looks like remedial calculus to me.

Never took it. I aced Algebra and Geometry in school, somehow managed to scrape a 'C' in Calculus and knew that Trig would kick my ass.

Never could get Calculus to 'click' in my head. Algebra and Geometry I could apply, but Calc and what little Trig they showed us was too abstract for me to conceptualize for some reason.

Trig is easy. Try differential equations.

x2, diff eq was horrible! Calc and trig were a breeze.

It's all in how your mind works. For me, Trig was something I could visualize, which is why it made sense to me. Not everyone's mind works the same way though.

Math has never quite been my strong suit. Neither has most sciences..

    Math and science ftw...

I disliked math too, especially differential equations. But once it "clicks", you just sort of get it. Now I use multi variable calc and diff eq pretty regularly

Nope. I can do basic trig stuff (Pythagorean theorem, etc) but anything more complex than that is a mindfork for me.

I just don't really have a math brain, I guess. I scored a 720 for my reading/verbal on the SAT's, and only squeaked a 570 for the math :anonymous:

And that was more than 10 years ago, so I'd assume that things have not improved in the meantime...

Once you start adding letters to my math, I'm out. If you want to talk ounces and pints and quarts and teaspoons I'm in

I didn't find it to be too bad - if I remember it was more of less the same 3 step process to break the equation down. Like posted above, once it 'clicks' you get it. The professor I had was really good. He only used the book for homework and told us not to read the chapters as it would only be confusing. What I found was that you don't really learn algebra until you take calc, and you don't learn calc until you take diffy Q's. I don't recall which math course I just couldn't get my hear around - it was some elective that involved breaking down large tables of numbers. I guess it was so bad, I blocked it out of my mind.

Our teacher was a miserable old guy that retired from NASA and decided to teach. He used to start writing the equation with his left hand and finish with his right. All in one fluid motion.

Awesome. All I had in college Math classes were teachers for whom English was at best a second language. Did not make the learning process easy or enjoyable
