Thats awesome . The only time I have seen them out here is as working dogs for cattle. There are some pups locally but I am still looking for a good rescue.

I'm a fan of rescuing. The Redbone in my pic this morning is a rescue. Got him as an adult. He was a little quirky when we got him. Zero barking, scared to death of coat hangers, belts, guns, a raised hand even if you're just reaching for something on a shelf and loud noises. He also eats every meal as if he hasn't eaten in weeks. Except for the way he eats & guns those fears have went away.

He has required some additional doctor visits for things like sedation dentistry and now has some renal issues but, I can't say it's from being a rescue. I can say he's a very good companion & he likes to sit on my lap (he's a buck 35 right now).

Health is my biggest concern. While I can take care of a dog and afford one I also know how much vet bills and medication add up. I have been browsing online and will be visiting some of the shelters soon. I also started looking on craigslist for owners who can no longer take care of their dog. Some of the people I have talked to make me pretty mad. They are more concerned about getting money out of the deal than making sure the dog is going to a good home :(. There are some black german shepherd puppies available though :).

Ours was a rescue... One of the best personality'a I've ever seen for a dog. She sits like a human 90% of the time.

I love the colors and personality I have seen of them so far. It would be a perfect fit for me but a pup would be hard by myself. Seems like a lot of owners can't handle the dogs and end up being owned by them...which makes since given the breeds natural instincts. Puppies are $400, not a lot of rescues for them out here as they are solely cow dogs.

Lucky! Ill be checking out a yellow lab hopefully this weekend. A year old and the owners "dont have enough time".

Good for you bad for them. They're missing out on a great breed. She goes everywhere with me as long as I can take her. She's a great dog, except when it's 8 at night. lol

Here's a more recent pic from 2 days ago.

Grab the yellow if you can. It sucks for the pup that the owners don't have the time but, I bet, if it's true, the puppy would be better off somewhere with humans that do have the time. Yellows are great people dogs & smart.

German Wirehair pups, not griffs. I really want a griff, supposedly their personalities are quite different. Love the look hairy bearded dog look :). Pretty dead set on a catahoula but we will see after this weekend :p.
