    I find it amazing that somebody mentions their MPGs in this thread and all hell breaks loose. A little like lighter fluid on a campfire.

    Seems to happen every few months. :laughing:

    People tend to automatically think that when somebody mentions MPG's that they're bragging. I was just showing that it is possible with a light foot and patience.

    When I get 14mpg though it doesn't bother me a bit. It's a truck and as long as it gets me from point A to B safely and in a timely matter then I'm happy haha

    When accelerating I try to never go above 2k. Takes a while to get up to 70 but oh well haha

    My truck barely moves at 2k RPM, 2350-2400 is where acceleration is acceptable.
    Yep, especially when i'm used to touching the redline a few times a week.

    I drove my cousins 03 mini S last week, that sucker has good acceleration, and i'd give left hand to have half the acceleration he has.

    But I love my truck to much to get rid of it for a car.

    Eventually (4-7 years) i'll get a subie, and not run my truck in the winter, but for now i have to keep an eye on my frame and deal with the MPG's

    Yeah, projects are a PITA.
    I almost got a 70's mustang instead of my truck.

    Why not run the truck in the Winter? I thought you lived in Cali? Haha

    Especially considering it would be back home 8 hours away and I'm only home a couple times a year... :rolleyes:

    Next project will hopefully be a classic vehicle. But that's many years away...
