A few red oil drops...

    Bak Flip bed cover, shorty antenna, Peripheral iPod interface, Garmin 750 mount, add'l bed tie down rings, Westin nerf bars, hitch safe, tailgate lock, Ideal 1 3/4" turn-key clamp to secure tailgate from removal, Spare tire security cable, spare tire stainless air hose extender, Fumoto oil drain valve, Amp Research Bed X-Tender w/Schlage Cable Lock, bed mat, Redline hood struts
    I noticed a small red patch of oil on the garage floor under the passenger side engine compartment. Steering fluid?

    I am hoping it was just hot and maybe there is an overflow tube? It was just a few drops....but I watch it like it was my checking account.....

    No overflow tube. You tranny is completely sealed.

    Performance- bored .20 over, Doug Thorely Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust, and K&N cold air intake. Exterior- Trail Gear Solid Axle Swap, ARB compressor, high pinion 4.88 with ARB locker, 4.88 TRD Locker in the rear. Interior- 2 10inch JL W1 subs, Alpine MRX-V70 amp, Alpine type R SPR 17C 6x6 speaker in the back, Focal 165 VR with crossover tweeter up front, and Weather Tech floor mats.
    You take it to a shop to get a tranny flush.

    i read somewhere in the forum that the new tacoma has the long life fluid and does not need to change until like 100k? unless u haul boats?

    Crawl under the truck and look around.....

    Aside from what everyone else has been saying...
    The first generation trucks used ATF in the steering system - so - Toyota could've used it in the 2nd gens also. I'm not sure.... Just what I know from owning my 96.
