Ignorant question Mike. Will the heater and defroster air ducts be sanitized?

You know it's a nasty job when the phrase "At least I'm working on it without puking anymore" applies. You should have called Mike Rowe, the Dirty Jobs guy. ;)

Sorry about the cold weather; I think you guys took a hit for us this year. Since January, it's been some of the mildest weather i've seen up here in 12 yrs.

Hell no let them puke instead of me... roflmao
    JK..

The cabin filter area was real bad so they cleaned the heater housing and fan in that area. As i was putting pieces back i was using duct cleaning spray. on all new parts and insulation. Before the dash goes back together I'll spray every duct again. They weren't in the ducts. They were in the headliner then under the carpet. They got in through the recirc door.Short of replacing the car not much else i can do. the sad part is next year its going to be back as they let the car sit for 6 months when they go to FLA.
as i put the new headliner in i'll be spraying the metal and inside panels.
after it's all back together i'll run a evap cleaner through the system.

I knew you would but I was wondering. Sort of an SOP kind of procedure.

    :D

Thought you might enjoy the pic. A friend posted it on my timeline in Facebook. He knows I have a Tacoma.

I'd want someone to take care of my health as best they could with an issue like that. Not that it matters much cause being a good tech is like peeing in a dark suit. Gives you a warm feeling but nobody notices. Then when you don't get paid for going the extra mile even that feeling goes.

i wasn't gonna say it, but I was thinking you should get some kind of HAZMAT pay or compensation for a job like that. But I'd guess that'd never happen.

    HAZMAT PAY??????
Everyday we should get hazmat pay.
Between the oils and cleaners and dust and getting dripped on with antifreeze etc.
    Compensation
That would be a dream come true.
But, that's the business in this day and age. It is what it has become. Everyone is the same

    Evening all:
John: Good to hear that the fire didn't do any damage to your homes.
Since I bought my place, I have eliminated a lot of surrounding trees, etc., just in case. We Had a fire on the ridge behind my house several years ago. Luckily it stayed on top of the ridge and didn't really threaten any homes.

Morning all:wave:... I thought retiring would be fun:eek:...
Glad all is still well with you guys in Jersey. A fire like that can change ones life in a flash...stay safe until it is totally out and safe to return home.
Glad the Prius is almost done Mike, we have a weekend place in the mountains and don't get that much mouse infestation during the winter. Although they did get into the stove a few years back and we had to get rid of it...the missus went online and found the little buggers don't like ginger. We bought some dried ginger and put it under the sofa seat cushions and no mice:D...she got a liquid ginger and we spread it around on the mattresses so we'll see how that works...maybe you should suggest something like that to them...
    Have a good day all....

Morning All,, Glad everyone is OK in NJ. Yes that 1 1/2 Mi. shot was great... In the old days we would bet on 800 yard shots. But thats all the weapon would do, after that it was luck:cool:

Glad to hear your home survived. I am adding a set of back up lights today and getting my cigarette lighter circuit up and running for my GPS and phone charger to work. My previous owners cared about having things look like they could work more than having them actually function.

Here is my project list so far on my 94 with 178k 4cyl 4X4:

[X]Plug safety chain holes in back bumper
    [ ]Install 12 v adapter wiring
[X]Monitor Transfer case r Toyota Truck Activities rear seal leak
    [X]Test trailer wiring connection
    [X]Replace door handle
    [ ]Monitor idle setting
    [X]Add AU insignia
    [X]Add bench seat cup holder
[X]Purchase extra gear oil and filler kit
    [X]Get tire change kit together
[X]Get strapping and come along on vehicle
    [X]Test off road capability
    [ ]Determine gas mileage
[ ]Get touch up paint and use
[X]Paint rusty undercarriage parts and exhaust
    [ ]Obtain shop manual
    [X]Adjust clutch pedal
[X]Install windshield washer reservoir and motor
    [X]Replace fuse box interior cover
[X]Get large tire fix a flat
    [ ]Diagnose headlight switch issue
    [X]Clean interior glass
[X]Paint exterior surfaces that are showing bare metal
[ ]Maintain tire pressure at 26 front 29 psi rear cold
[X]Purchase tow bar with 2" ball with locking pin
    [X]Place tow rope in truck
[X]Figure out how mud tires change actual speed on speedometer
