Kinda have that a little backwards... have you seen him eating stacks of 12 pancakes? The way he looks right now? I have... and look at Michael Jaa White... he is fucking jacked, movie interviews he states, pizza and protein. Your "clean" eating is slightly off base...but works for you. It doesn't work for me, the rock, Michael j. White or Joe donnelly Lol so....your argument is invalid.

All of which are on gear too.

Nevermind all of the big time pros follow the same protocol...I'm not saying eliminate all sugary foods, but what has been proven time and time, and time again works...

'Clean' food will have more micros in them, I can guarantee that...

PS- I am happy to read ur essay and give an honest opinion if you're willing to share it.

Edit: all foods (good vs bad-depending how u define it) have their place

Facts to prove your first point first.

My essay will be an honest opinion based on research.

If you wanna throw out gear let's talk about your boy Phil...not the one you banned. Lol!

What's his gear stack look like? Maybe branch warren or Kris gethin? Gear and food for gains vs......gear and "clean" food.

When I ate pizza, Mcdonalds, icecream, whole milk, mexican food I was the strongest I have ever been..

I also noticed my recovery after workouts has dropped since starting to eat cleaner

(I think my Calorie intake has remained about the same.. I eat 5-6/day whereas before I would eat 2-3/day

maybe I am just getting older but I used to bang out a set of 225x15 squats at the end of my leg workouts and I cant even come close anymore.

Edit: I will say though since eating cleaner... my skin is healthy, I dont have high glucose post meal crashes, I dont poop 5 times a day, my stress level is down, and I am way more shredded on a daily basis.

Ummm it's called health...micronutrients are ur vitamins and such....

That clean eating is healthier? :notsure:

    LOL!
How would I know what he's on lol. Honestly, there's a place for good and 'bad' foods....but 'clean' foods seems to always win on stage...put any 'bad' foods VS 'good' foods on stage (same wt class, build, etc). And I am willing to bet that the guy that doesn't follow IIFYM and eats 'cleaner' foods will win....it never fails- show after show after show after show.

    Dom saves the day again.

I do IIFYM, but I don't think IIFYM was created so you can eat whatever the fuq you want. I still eat reletively clean, it's just more flexible with IIFYM. I based my meals on my 3 macro needs, but if I went out and ate cheeseburgers, I would hit my macro limit in 2 hours! IIFYM, to me, lets me eat clean, while at the same time, lets me have 1 or 2 foods that aren't that great. Trying to go 100% clean is miserable and everyone hates it. There is a balance and I feel that it works fine. I'm seeing great results eating 90% clean every single day. I still drink 1 Coke a day and eat 1 serving of chips a day and still manage to lose fat and maintain muscle.

People that don't know what the fuck IIFYM is take it as they can eat ice cream and hot dogs all day and get ripped; it doesn't work like that. You've got to eat good foods that don't go over your caloric and macro limits. I have never and will never count micronutrients; counting macros is already a pain in the ass, so I refuse to add to it. I would much rather just eat clean, healthy foods that I know are full of micronutrients and not have to worry about being deficient. There's no arguing that a tuna sandwich on whole wheat and a big salad is better for you than a Big Mac and fries. The latter isn't sufficient in micronutrients, whereas the former is chalk full of them. Also, I would think it'd be impossible to base an IIFYM diet oof eating incredibly dirty without going over your daily limits. How can you stay under 60 g fat and 250 g carbs if all you eat is pancakes, pizza, and Hot Pockets all day?

You can get ripped on those foods, believe it or not....but I can almost guarantee your energy will be horrible, your digestion will be screwed, and so on and so forth..

I don't count micros...it would make this lifestyle more challenging...but just knowing I am taking in some micros out bodies need and crave is always a plus...

This is why I enjoy this thread. It's a great discussion area where many have different views and ideas on how to approach certain things....what works for one may, or may not work for another when it comes to certain ways of diets (high carb vs low, high fat vs low carb, etc etc)

Agreed. I'm sure eating gluten-free, non organic, unprocessed, natural, clean stuff would work, but I would much rather stick with my processed meat, cheeses, whole wheat, etc. For me, a super clean diet isn't sustainable b/c most people that do them end up breaking the diet and binge eating a bunch of junk; it's mentally exhausting to me. I'd just rather eat what I want and be done with it. As long as you follow the rules, you'll be successful.
