But is it really the shocks or is it that the OME's just happened to be the right length while the other 2 were either too short or two long. In Mark and I's case they were flat out too short and no shock is going to hold up very long if it is acting as the limit strap. Though one of my rear 5100's did survive it's 2 years with me and one did now.

    standard 5100s are like..8.5''ish travel.

OME standards are 9.13'' i think.

    so could be.

I keep reading that you guys say you beat the piss out of your trucks but every time i see pics of them they are on what looks to be fire roads. thats not beating the piss out of them making a trail out in the middle of no where where if you're not carefull you can drop a 35 into a hole and have to be winched out that's beating the pis out of your truck

Oh quit being an ass hole.

I drive my truck very hard over very rough roads. Speed is the key here. Sorry i don't try and go up two or three big rocks on the trail for it to be hardcore. I can't take a photo while going 30-40mph over trails.

Also, trail blazing is the reason trails close and some how i am not surprised to find your one of the dicks that do it.

Get pins for the hinges. Just trailer pins..baically do what Jon did.

Otherwise lining the doors up can be a bit of a bitch. If you do the pins thing you wont' unbolt the half of the hinge that is on the truck so they will seal just like they are now when you put them back on.

My driver side is still a bit off...haha

I'm honestly probably not going to use tube doors when wheeling, depending on where I'm at.

I roll my windows up too often to avoid all of the dust to want to go wheeling with them all the time. Yes I know that's the main purpose, but it's stilk my DD after all haha

I'd just enjoy being able to drive around during the Summer without doors.

Ill give you that high speed shit wears parts out but not nearly as hard on them as other stuff. I figure that 30+ MPH stuff is the easier part of the stuff i do.

Also see thats where you guys dont understand that there are areas in south east idaho that you dont have to stay on trail and can make new trails people dont bitch and it's already been okay'd by BLM. SO SUCK IT!!!!

Ive actually crushed a few vehicles and i can say that they dont help at all from where the window starts and up..

yeah once again different but still i doubt very much all all for the upper part of the cab. I can grab the door at the top and put my knee agiast the lower part and bent the door. I say this cuz ive had to do it a few times to stop air leaks on a few tacomas for customers that didnt want to buy new weather stipping.

Eh, that for 2" of lift and for 3" of lift stuff is just for mall crawlers. In offroading you are going to likely be using all of your travel fairly often and will have to make sure that your leaf pack lines up to your shocks. Not all shocks cycle the same and not all leaf packs cycle the same. Hell I have less lift now than I did with my OEM leaf pack and do you think my 5100's would have been fine?

Also OME and 5100's are at basically the same price point so I doubt the quality differences are much, especially if you compare an Icon or King shock to them.

One good example is for 2nd gens the OME C/O's bottom out very harshly with 886's on them, but the 5100's don't. This is because the 5100's have about an inch more travel than the OME's so the spring load is bottoming out the 5100's with about 650lbs less force (886's are 656 lbs/inch) than it is the OME's.

You know I beat on my rig. Well you hear about it any way... I've only ever got you to go snow wheeling with me... haha

This! Or even just finding a big rock that fits into the space when you roll crushing you...

For example Mark, like when you made it up the V and barely scratched your door. What if you had your door off and had a passenger and ended up falling onto the rock worse causing it to enter the cab? That rock was too big to likely kill the person, but would break their arm I'll bet. Well what if that happens but on the drivers side and with a skinnier rock?

^^^This too. What if you are out on the trail and it down pours all the sudden and drowns your seats...

Not sure if you use your AC in Moab but it won't work real well without the doors either... I put mine on floor and it still does ok with the windows down.

They would sure be nice to be able to see better though.

Story of my KM2's lives... My lugs are shredded. Even the new one I destroyed on spring break that had less than 5K miles on it was missing lugs and all cut up.
