I am interested in purchasing an aftermarket grille and brush bar for my 2nd gen Tacoma and was just curious if you guys have an opinion/experience on what brands I should go with or stay away from. Any particular vendor stand out from the others on a pricing standpoint?

I am thinking about replacing my chrome grille with a black mesh style grille and adding a black brush bar.

Big country brush guard. I mainly got it for the look and as a light mount.
    Pretty strong.

Mainly just for apperance. Maybe it will come in handy when I hit a deer seeing that it seems to be happening more and more often.

Missed that...yeah Grillcraft is a good option then!

If you want protection from deer...then you should do a full plate bumper for protection.

Thanks for the input. I hadn't really thought about the downside of getting a brush bar.

This is true for some hits maybe but they also save your vehicle in most accidents. I had one on my old jeep in high school so there were instances where I hit things like store buggies, poles, with no damage & a tree. One of the hits (tree) was at about 40 mph and I was able to drive home because of this guard rather than having my radiator punctured. Left the guard mangled and it did push into the front of the jeep but no crushing just pressed against. This was a manik brush guard which no longer makes them.

bully bull bar, halo/angle eye headlights, 20" cree led light bar mounted on bull bar. 42" radius light bar from extreme LEDs 2 led pods, Spare tire mount on bed
I have a bull bar and I got into a minor accident and the bull bar actually made it worse the bar just folded into my grill doing more damage. I like how they look to so I still have one anyway. Until I get an armor bumper.
