Thinking of buying a Kimber Ultra Covert II Pistol. I currently have a Glock 27 going to sell the Glock to a friend and I'm looking to see if anyone on TW has one or has shot any of guns in the Kimber lineup? Thanks for any input:) [IMG]

Kimber used to have a sterling reputation but not so much anymore. That being said, badass looking pistol. I NEED a 1911 so bad.

Very cool. Those short barreled 1911's often need a bit more break in, but give it time, and that will be a great shooter.

There is a reason Ed Brown and Wilson WON'T make a 3" bbl 1911.That being said Kimber has regained their initial quality they had lost , started on that path when they dropped the external extractor that plagued them.If you can deal with a slightly larger gun the PRO II size is much better. The problems with 3" are usually not "break in" but inherent to the short slide on a 100 year old design.

Yes exactly, however, in my case my 3" micro compact eventually worked out its kinks. Of course I added a new extractor, finger grooved grips, polished feed ramp and wilson magazines. Now she shoots flawlessly for me. However, it still jams with some shooters (da wifey) where limpwristing comes into play.

Yeah , I get what you are saying.I know 2 others that love and swear by their own 3" 1911s.I guess what matters is if you can use it , and trust it with your life.Really IMO that's what matters.

Off this topic.I saw the "gun posters" , a lot of glock bashing.lol.So the 2 pics the glock and the colt anaconda.....What do you think happened to the shooters?Has anyone ever talked to people that have had that happen or watched it happen?
