wanted ur guys opinions on this

friend's g35 was hit, car is at ford dealer recommended by other party's insurance, what are the chances these are new oem parts

what makes me suspicious is the shiny white door

 

Yeah, I don't know about that white door. From my experience, most new body parts show up black like that back door. Looks like that's a used door on the front to me.

 

that's what i assumed too, plus the door handle is already in, and the window is tinted, whereas the back handle is not in, thx

 

I think all white would be nice

 

The white door is used the door handle is a dead give away..Used parts are not always bad.. new oem is the best, Then used oem,, then cheap replacements from China but most of them are poor fit and junk..

 

i agree, it wasn't his fault, so i recommended he push for new oem stuff, cuse I think lots of policies cover new aftermarket or used oem, and not new oem if they can help it.

 

I'll most likely do that when I decide wether to leave it like this or not

I considered doing that maybe I'll paint the other one solid white and see wichever one I like more

What year is the car?

If its older than 2 years old, replacement parts are like, kind, and quality parts. Not necessarily brand new OEM stuff. It depends on what is in the insurance contract

 

its a 2008, and yea most of the time I don't think it's a big deal, but i think it's just the principle, i think he thinks everything is going to be oem new, and he asked the body shop they said all infiniti parts, I'm just very skeptical of that

 

Well they are Infiniti parts, just probably slightly used, with a car being nearly 7 years old the insurance company isn't going to spring for brand new stuff.

 

yea well i don't doubt that white one is oem, but i would assume back door is aftermarket

If that shop was on the Ins list they will go out of the way to make the Ins, co. happy , how much work do you think they get from the ins. co . You pal they may never see him again. Who are they looking out for
