Yes. Another TW member offered up his truck for a test fit and it fit perfectly. It appears that there's been no changes to the tailgates.

Shipping to Bridgeport will be $50.

Once I put the order in machining takes ~2 weeks. Anytime during that is great. That way I can ship them as immediately when they're ready.

I will sent payment in full shortly - $180. Any reason why you cannot use aluminum in fabricating this tailgate reinforcement? It will be lighter and removes rust out of the equation.

 

I'm using steel for the ultimate strength. Regarding rust, even Aluminum would have to be covered in some way on the top because it would be slick when wet.

I did talk to the machine shop regarding diamond-plate aluminum but they said that the surface would be damaged at the folds.

I believe that it depends where the folding line is located on the aluminum diamond-plate material. There are folded aluminum diamond-plate products on the market. With a little planning it can be done.

Meanwhile I purchased a Herculiner Kit and I will apply a double coat after fitting, cutting and drilling the metal. Depending on the outcome I may or may not use the original plastic tailgate cover. Please let me know when you will ship the product and provide a tracking number. Thank you.

I just grabbed the first zip code I could find. Yikes, the shipping to Fairbanks, 99701 is $126. I'll see if there's anything else I can come up with.

I think you'll like the Herculiner. That's what I used on my yeeeeears ago and it's still going strong. One piece of advice is to make sure you go all the way to the edges. I tried to get fancy and have a clean line to show the metal, but the Herculiner pulled away there. Where it went to the edges and wrapped around a little bit it held very strong.

Any of you guys know or have any good ideas on improving the attachment of these? (not welding) Doesn't seem to me like those plastic screw tabs will hold up.
