Saw a wreck waiting to happen today.

Newer 4 door charger on a 16' car trailer. Charger was a show car, bagged, 26" wheels, custom paint, etc. car had a 2" cheap ass ratchet strap looped thru the spokes of each rear wheel and one front wheel. He other front wheel had a 1" hf ratchet strap. They had wrapped the straps with towels to protect the wheels. I pull past to admire the strap job to find out the super duty didn't has a receiver so they were pulling it off the bumper. I saw the hitch moving which made me think "do they even make a 2 5/16" ball for a bumper? Don't think so, prolly the wrong ball". But wait there's more, we get off the freeway together and now as he brakes I see the death wobble from the front tire.

Yeah I don't know what auto manufacturers are thinking sometimes. Guy at work was talking to me about his ram. Said he had a tow package but couldn't find the receiver. Has the plugs but no receiver. So I go out to look at it and there is no receiver, they strengthened the bumper and you bolt the ball to it...

Do you know what the rating on the "tow package" bumper? I looked last night and my excursion is 500 tongue, 5000 gross.

Edit-I looked it up. The Ram bumper is a class III hitch, which is 600/6000 unless you use a weight distribution. But the weight distribution only goes in a reciever. Yeah dodge, Not all chevy 3/4 tons have full floaters. C'mon 3/4 ton tundy..

I thought the drivers seemed a little tweaked when we yoyo aligned it.
