Also, when clearing your house, you need to think about what the intruder may be looking for....He may be looking for someones head to poke from around a corner. Get low. This pic was taken, as I was practicing not being seen. The plate on the colum is about 4 feet off the ground

..and rounds have a tendacy to skip off and along side drywall about 6 inches. Not the best position for defense. IMO

Well theres a sale at Big 5 for a mossberg 500. Now I'm debating between the 500 or a winchester 1300. The win is used an has about 100 rounds through it, and its 230. Mossy is 280 new.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Other.

    Remington 870.

And a Glock 19 or Glock 17, whichever you shoot better.

Myself, I use a 10.5" AR with a suppressor on the end (to better protect my hearing, my dear).

Its OAL is still slightly shorter than a standard 16" AR so it's all good.

And FWIW, if I suspect an intruder is in my place, I would barricade myself in my room and call the police. If you have children in another part of the house I definietly understand the need to go and get them, but only in that situation.

    Hunker down and call 911.
