I haven't talked paint money yet, he's a buddy at work. So hopefully he won't get me too bad. Like it says above, right now I'm just under $1700. We'll see what the paint adds. I'll let you know when I get a number.

They still sell vehicles with black hoods. Always a cool look.

I'm super pleased so far. I love the updated nose. And I've always wanted the scoop hood.

Edit; I also love that the lower grill and the upper grill mimic each others shapes. I just find the older model a little clunky looking. Just my opinion. Don't want to start any fights. :)

Nice work man, can't wait to see it painted, and for the money you're into it an impressive update! slap some of the LED tail lights (if you don't already have them) and you took 6 years off the truck

I received the rest of my parts and my sister in law helped me get things buttoned up and adjusted. All I need is the grill emblem and paint. Thanks to RG11 for the gracious project donation.

There is one thing I'm discovering. I assume it's because I am using aftermarket parts, not all OEM parts. We had some issues getting parts to line up. Some of the gaps are still questionable as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to get paint and see how it looks. The only part I have to work on is line up of the fender extensions.

So, here are some new shots with the scoop parts installed and our best attempt at fit and finish.

Can't wait to see it painted. Much more cost efficient and less nerve wrecking than trading in your baby for a new truck.

Especially considering it's paid for. Last thing anyone needs is another car payment huh?

Thanks Disco. Should have paint by next weekend.

So when i saw this thread and your first post OP, my reaction was " Oh NO what a Dumb Ass" sorry no offense just being honest. Then i continued reading and let me tell you what my opinion now is. I must say i am very impressed, 1. i had no idea it was possible, 2. Great job in having the balls to actually do this. I also am a huge fan of the new Tacos. Great Job man. Cant wait to see the finished product.

Got it today and put it on. Looks awesome. Looks like it's brand new. Thanks so much. So cool.

I completely understand. There's other folks that don't see the reasoning behind such a job. For me it's just the opportunity to refresh my Taco for a reasonable amount of money. The truck only has 95,000 miles on it. And we all know, that is a drop in the bucket for a Toyota. And I don't have to take on a payment.
Thanks for the great comments. I'll deffinately be posting the finished product. It'll be painted next weekend.
