    Make the time! ;)

Glad to know I'm not the only one who does that (crash and wake up between 2AM and 4AM). :D

I'm on my last shift before my 3 day break. Busy all week, but slow tonight ... I'm ready for the break. :)

    How are you tonight Joe?

    Hi Rich,

Well, I'm here. Mine (the aircraft) is fixed so I'm surfing and thinking about going out to grab us some doughnuts. The low cal no fat kind of course. :D

I'm good Rob. You taking some extra time off? Got some plans or just taking a break?

I bet Rich is/was getting the system that passed through this area yesterday evening. After a week of great weather I got my ass soaked last night. While walking into work from the parking lot the sky opened and even though I had a rain coat and umbrella I was actually dripping wet. So much so that the water ran down INSIDE my water proof Danner boots. Not really something I enjoy. The good part is the weather moved out quick and the weather is back to great & I always keep spare everything at work.

lol. Congrats. Some days I think about putting in for a normal day shift. They have a few spots open. But when you sign for a dayshift job, they can put you anywhere they want. So, I'm fine right now for the time being.

    x2 on the Congrats

:anonymous: I don't think I remember how to speak/play day shift games.

Sounds like your shift is going similar to mine tonight.

Not extra time off ... just my normal 3 day break. I work a 9 day/80 hr two week schedule. 5 on / 2 off / 4 on / 3 off. Plans for this one are to be lazy Saturday, do yard work Sunday and/or Monday. Grand kids are staying with us Sat and Sun night. :)

I remember those southern downpours. Rarely happens that way here...we get more of the Pacific NW style of drizzly to fairly steady style of rain. :notsure:

No ... we (my fishing/hunting partner and I) let it go. We don't need to replace ours yet, and decided we'd rather spend money this year on an enclosed trailer big enough to haul both 6x6s together or the boat and ATV fully set up. We're on the look out for one at the right price now.

EDIT: Currently we pack up the boat and move it to the river or inlet broke down with an ATV in my small (6x10) enclosed trailer. We've been talking for awhile about how it'd be convenient if we could keep the boat set up all Summer and had an enclosed trailer to haul it in. We're looking for a box above axles, 24' to 26' long trailer in the tall version (6'6"); the 6x6s are 73" tall.

Thats never a good time, hopefully when the boots dry out they don't start to smell really bad. Had that happen to pair of hunting boots and had to toss them.

Sounds to me like a good weekend Rob.

I will say when I first moved here the darkness of the clouds and really heavy rain were a change.

Ya, it's over rated. I'm with you, I'm hoping the boots survive.

    How's ND treating you?

Its going good, surprised that ND actually gets sunny and warm for once. Although I get to head home in the morning after my shift so I'm trying to get excited for that 12 hour drive.

Hows the yardwork going down there? grass growing like crazy with all the rain you've been getting?

That's a long haul after working all night; be careful. How long do you go home for at a stretch?

Holy crap, I hope you're gonna be home for more than a weekend with a 12 ride.

Ya, the yard work is in full swing. It does rain but, the weather is pretty much rain then sun and sometimes rain while it's sunny. So, with that combination the shit grows...a lot. That is one thing I like about this area. It can be sunny in the morning, rain it's ass off for a few hours, then sunny again by late afternoon. And the drainage is great, at least at my place. Most of time I can mow right after the rain stops. My place is so damn green now and it happened so fast (though seemed late this year) it takes me a minute to get used to it when I'm outside.

Thanks, yea I am usually pretty cautious when driving back home. Luckily the roads I take are not heavily traveled by others so I know a few decent spots to stop and take naps.

I'm hoping to be home for 10ish days before coming back out for another 25. Its pretty hard to try and plan anything when I'm back in town cause I'm always on call so I could be home for 2 days then get a call to go back haha.

Man, I'm jealous of all the yard space and green grass you have but it must seem like as soon as you mow you need to mow again haha. Have you recruited any kids to mow it yet?

    Always on call. :(

I don't miss those days at all. Spent the better part of the last 14 years of my 26 years on active duty on call. Now that I'm just a worker for my second career, I leave the phone on the dresser in "do not disturb" mode a good deal of the time when I'm off. :)

I hope you get your full 10 days at home without being called back.
