Yea I wont hold my breath though, kinda used to being called back at least a few days early. I look forward to those days of turning off my phone when not at work haha. How long have you been at your current station?

I haven't. I did manage to speak to a guy who is currently unemployed but, we didn't come to an agreement. Everything was good except he didn't have his own transportaion and even if he did, he doesn't have a DL. He wasn't close and the point of me finding someone to do it is so I can remove myself from the task and do other things. Picking him up and taking him home does not remove me from the picture.

On a side note, he had lost his liscence because he was deemed a "dead beat dad" and owed whatever amount of money in back child support. Ironic in my eyes because I struggle to see how taking someones means of transportation will help them in being able to pay anything let alone child support.

As far as the actual mowing. It's not that bad with the right mower, IMO but, between that and a lot of other stuff I've got on the my stack of things to do, I've got a good two years of part time work.

13 years this October. 1st 8 years were on Active Duty in a superintendent job; I took calls from my controllers (op center) around the clock. This was my last active duty assignment. We fell in love with Alaska and decided to stay. I basically walked out of one end of the building and back in the other into a civil service position.

I agree Joe. That makes no sense whatsoever. I wouldn't have thought it was possible for one to loose their DL for that. Sounds like more of the "system run amuck" to me.

If he was being honest and I have no reason to believe he wasn't it, IMO, is not a uniqe way of doing business for the government but, typical.

I tend to believe him because when he told me he'd need a ride I point blank asked him if he had a OWI/DUI and he popped out with it. It's not like not paying child suppot is viewed much better in my eyes than some other more common causes of people losing their license.

Oh, I have no love for dead beat dads. But not knowing the circumstances, how's the guy ever supposed to get and hold a job to start paying what he owes? Of course, there could very well be much more to the story; maybe he was already given chances and they dropped the hammer when he didn't make good. We'll never know for sure I guess.

EDIT: You know, the more I think about, he had to have made some bad choices to get himself into that predicament. :notsure:

I think you're right Rob. He didn't seem like a decent person but, you know something started that downward decent. And, I think you hit the nail on the head, a one time miss or small event would not result in the loss of the DL...at least I wouldn't think with the liberal courts.

ON A SIDE NOTE: I'm unable to get to my PMs. Not sure if it's my machine or TW.

Wait another 2 weeks to a month for the kids to start getting out of school ... maybe put out some ads or flyers. I have faith there are still good young people out there. You might find somebody wanting to make some extra cash while they are home from college for the Summer, or a high school kid looking to make some extra cash.

My tw has been acting strange the last hour or so. Wont refresh and times out. Think it's back to normal. Maybe there is some maintenance going on.

Might be TW, I had to reboot my work machine here in the last 5 mins. I was thinking AF Comm folks were pushing updates.

I was just asking how your son and his family were doing. You can PM later. He was just on my mind.

EDIT: I really need to learn a little bit of patience.
