So you guys used the jack method and just put a bottle jack to keep the UCA from going up with 5100s and toytec coils? Just want to make sure i do it right

I've seen the video, but people have said it won't work with the toytec coils

I say go for it, just be careful and take your time. I had a set of spring compressors so I used those

I just realized on that video that the tacoma he's working on only has the 2 bolt lower ball joint. I thought only 5 lug tacomas had the smaller/ 2 bolt LBJ's?
Or did the early model tacomas have those style LBJ's?

Allowing the LCA to fully "relax" is key in removing/ installing the Coilover setup. When I first tried to uninstall and install the new eibachs/ bilsteins I didn't undo the LBJ and had to get a crow bar in order to get enough leverage get the Coilover assembly back into place. It made thing 10x harder than they should have been. But yeah take your time and I'm sure you'll get it done

I never touched the LCA bolts when I did mine. Took the sway bar off and could easily pry the lca down to realign the bolt on the bottom of the strut.

Shouldn't have to lax the lca bolts to get the strut/coil over in. The issue is the upper control arm and knuckle, at least on stock upper control arms setups, contacting the spring and preventing droop. The best way is to take a large pry bar to force the upper control arm down.

Bottle jack wouldn't work for me, pry bar worked better.

I think everyone might be over complicating this. With no sway bar, all I had to do was pry down on the lca, line the hole up with a screwdriver, and slide the bolt through. It didn't take very much force on the pry either.

I think it's dependent on the vehicle. I had to put my whole weight on the pry bar to get the uca to lower enough... So it wasn't possible for me to get it installed without help.

I had the sway bar off too. Putting the stock bottle jack made it really easy to do by myself since it just stays in position

My bottle jack kept sliding around making it too dangerous to rely on for me.
