What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

How often am I really goin to be around a cop in reverse. They ain't on all the time I have had all different kinds of lights for reverse in other vehicles

 

I really won't ever be anywhere where I need reverse lights to see this truck don't go off-road

 

Don't know, it's as random as anything, point was that it isn't legal and people shouldn't do it.

 

Oil catch can after about 60 miles of around town driving.

 

Finishes up my dynamat sound deadened project. Doors, floor, roof. Complete. Not as huge as a difference but def noticeable.

 

Is it not legal? I don't think Idaho has any laws on what color reverse lights have to be, they could, but I just haven't heard. I do know they regulate what color headlights, brake lights, tail lights and blinks have to be, but they don't regulate much else besides that. I have green marker lights in my headlights and it's legal. They can be any color but blue actually. Which at that point a cop might get him for them being blue but I really doubt it. It's a backup light not a drive light.

 

Completed the mod this morning. Once I had what I needed it took less than ten minutes. Thanks to the guy who posted how to do this. I lost the link but have the pics.

 

Really depends on his state laws. For California, our back up lights have to be either; white, red or amber.

"Backup Lamps

24606. (a) Every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, of a type subject to registration and manufactured on and after January 1, 1969, shall be equipped with one or more backup lamps either separately or in combination with another lamp. Any vehicle may be equipped with backup lamps.

(b) Backup lamps shall be so directed as to project a white light illuminating the highway to the rear of the vehicle for a distance not to exceed 75 feet. A backup lamp may project incidental red, amber, or white light through reflectors or lenses that are adjacent or close to, or a part of, the lamp assembly.

(c) Backup lamps shall not be lighted except when the vehicle is about to be or is backing or except in conjunction with a lighting system which activates the lights for a temporary period after the ignition system is turned off.

(d) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with a lamp emitting white light on each side near or on the rear of the vehicle which is designed to provide supplemental illumination in an area to the side and rear not lighted by the backup lamps. These lamps shall be lighted only with the backup lamps.

Amended Ch. 813, Stats. 1981. Effective January 1, 1982."

Just bought this today to start the transformation of my front end . Anyone ever buy this set or know how they install. Link of install.

 

Cleaned the inside out it was ugly....that's all

 

Installed my front hitch receiver. Took an over an hour.

 

I got the same setup off ebay. you will need to do some cutting for the main grill part. Not to bad. the rest of the parts are bolt over/screw on.

 

What kind of cutting? Off original grill

Took the winter studded tires off today . April 21st was the deadline but we just got another two feet of the white stuff . Sorta glad that my summer tires are mud and snow
