Thanks for the post Dan !
I read every page and all the posts .... I then clicked the link to Amazon ... Then saw that there is a version that sells for $60 instead of $90 ... The cheaper is labeled as "Universal"
it's 4.25 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter .... Is there a reason to buy one model over the other ?

The Red Line hood strut will hit the catch can if you mount it to the existing fender holes. You can do it but you have to space it out from the fender.

Thanks to Detective Dan, I was able to install my Oil Catch Can with only a couple of hitches along the way.
First I made a bracket to attach the Oil Catch Can bracket too. I made my first bracket out of a piece of aluminum flashing I had laying around. It came out great! I attached it to the pre-existing holes with M8-1.25 screws.

    P1270843.jpg
    P1270845.jpg

Until I connected both hoses, then it began to sag. I was afraid it would continue to fall with driving conditions and start to hit the side fender wall.

    P1270846.jpg

So, I made a second bracket out of a piece of stainless steel I picked up at Lowe’s in their lumber/fencing department. I’ve used these brackets for many other projects, and they work great.

    P1270851.jpg

Attaching the 7/16” hoses to the engine was not difficult.
The hose I attached to the Inlet of the Oil Catch Can measured 19½ “.

    P1270848.jpg

The hose I attached to the Outlet of the Oil Catch Can measured 18”.

    P1270856.jpg

The only other hitch I had along the way was that I purchased 8 feet of 7/16" hose. Advanced Auto was great, and they allowed me to return the extra 5 feet of hose. Overall, a very easy project which I hope will prolong my engine life.

Pretty astonished by the accumulation of oil I had in my Oil Catch Can after only 100 miles!

Yep, believe I'll be putting an order in for one of these. Seems to be a small but good investment, and would help keep things nice and clean internally, helping with longevity.

Got mine installed two sundays ago. THe brakcet was actually a bit....interesting. Made it all nice to just bolt under the fuse box but the damn bolt wouldnt go in. So hand bent it (just 1/4" aluminum) to fit hole on the fender.

Was a bit interesting though. Checked it after ~50 miles and found it was a almost beige color liquid with sludge in the bottom (not much just like a tsp). Cleaned it out and just went ~250 miles and its now looking like everyone elses (just oil!)

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Did any of you guys notice any difference in how the truck ran when adding the catch can?

I just did mine and I noticed a very sizable difference in idle and acceleration. It was never rough enough to cause alarm but now its very smooth and cranks much easliy/quickly.

I also changed my neg ground lead (from the batter to the body) from 8ga to 4ga and Im trying to figure out which one made such a noticable difference in how the truck runs.

Saw your post. You also stated that your still N/A but plugged the manifold and are running the oil catch vented. Have you thrown any codes because of it?

I was looking for these on Amazon but didnt find them. Other sites seem to be showing a "version 2" model that looks a bit different than the ones in the pictures.
