Changed brake pads and rotors yesterday. I used the repair manual as a guide, as I usually do for repairs. I turned to the section for 2WD tacos but mine did not match..... I went to the section for 4WD tacos and they matched exactly. I know mine is not a 4WD..... So why do I have the 4WD brake system?

Prerunner TRDs have the 4x4 suspensions, including shocks, control arms, spindles and also include the 4x4 brakes and the 6 lug wheels, from the factory.

Because you're a pre runner, you also have a 4wd grille and a 4wd light in the dash ;)

Prerunners have the same ride height as a 4x4 for people who want the hight but don't need 4x4.

A prerunner is essentially a 2WD on 4x4 suspension. Some people want a truck higher off the ground but don't need/want 4WD.
