    I added 2 horns from a Caddy a few years back but I want something a little more beefier now.

    :woot::woot::oldglory:

    Good morning guys. Going to be another nice day here in the Mid Atlantic region. I need to change the oil in the car and start to plant some plants I purchased yesterday.

    I tried to fix a lawnmower yesterday and the parts for the carb cost more than a new carb. Ordered the carb off of eBay and it should be here on Thursday. The mower is an old Honda HR215. The carb float and the gas line valve do not let gas into the carb. Both parts are worn out. It is not a good idea to let a mower sit and not be used.

    Morning Jim.

    Morning Tom, Air Horns:D...I always ran the mower out of gas for the winter then had to run it full throttle in the spring for a few times to get the cobwebs out:rolleyes:...then it would idle. Never kept them long enough to wear the parts out:D

    I was in Vietnam and in this brigade until 1970 but I have a neighbor who was in recon at that time and he will probably know all of them. I have forwarded the story to him. I will let you know if he remembers them. My neighbor and I remembered seeing each other when we were in from the field as I was a ranger and we did similar missions then. We never spoke in country.

    Great story Ken, thanks for sharing that. :oldglory:

    Wide awake at 2:30AM again. Fiddle around my garage for a bit then try for a couple hour nap in a while. Need to get to some yard work today. Weather looks cooperative :).

    I started using StaBil in the mower, snowblower, and ATVs about 6 yrs ago. Fill the tanks with StaBil treated gas and run them for about 5 mins before storing them away. Haven't had an issue since I started doing that. Before I started using it, the ATVs in particular were always difficult to get going after Winter storage. :notsure:

    I THANK both of you for your service Bill. Never was sent to Nam, but knew a few who were there and they don't talk much about it. Thanks:oldglory:

    I empty the tank of gas and run the mower dry. I then spray a little WD40 into the cylinder through the spark plug port. Leave the gas cap off for a week or so to let any gas evaporate and call it good.

    This mower has been in a shed at church for who knows how long without working. $50 to make it better is not bad. I had a new spark plug that was the exact one I needed so no additional cost there. I will add a fresh charge of oil to the crank case.

    I see what you did there young lady. ;)

    It's worked well for me. :)

    :eek: At the laundry mat washing muddy raingear that's been sitting in a basket in the garage since last September. Kristi asked me what it was, then when was I gonna take care of it. Took the hint that now was probably a good time. Did I get that one right Susan? :)

    Finally decided to replace a wheel well liner that was destroyed when the wife hit a deer last autumn. :eek:

    Attila the Hun put the wheel on the car and I did a small strain on my right side using a lug nut wrench. Decided to take it easy the rest of today. Going to go and watch the fish to see if they are spawning today. I would post up a video but it would be X rated. ;)

    So here's one: Looking everywhere for my light leaf rakes. See multiple garden rakes and numerous other implements, but NO light leaf rakes. Shed, garage, even behind shed...thinking the sometimers has struck again...and it dawns on me, call Mitch..."do you have my leaf rakes?" "Yeah Dad, we were cleaning up for the BBQ bonfire out here last August when Mom's Aunt & Uncle were visiting." Glad he's only 15 mins away. Off I go. ;)

    So I completely did the tear apart and increased the retractor tension on my passenger seatbelt unit this afternoon with no success. It does still work after doing this procedure so all is not lost... just not improved. On to the next project!
