^^^ I feel like the shovel should be pointed the other way...in case you are rear ended and it forces the spade into the back passenger? Though maybe there are other issues than that with a hit that high

I was thinking the same thing right when I saw that. Awesome setup, but I'd point her the other way 'round.

I carry a Pulaski in the bed, mounted with quick fists, and i know after a day of wheeling it tends to loosen up a bit. It wouldn't even take a rear end hit, maybe just a hard stop and you're looking at a new rear glass.

 

I tightened it down pretty good, but yea I guess better safe than sorry. I was just thinking about the ease of taking it off/putting it on with it being faced that way, but I can easily turn it around. Thanks guys!

Ok lets try the reverse. YOU rearend someone or something. the air bags would save your face, but not a shovel coming through the back window into your head.I mean really it is just a glorified rubber band holding the clamp tight around the shovel... it's just a simple piece of advice, and one that, although it is unlikely, could potentially save a life.

 

I would leave it as is. IMO it's not a big deal.
