Hoping to get to Silver Lake soon, my yfz 450 is getting tired of running trails and powerlines.... :bored:
I was to lucky be at Silver Lake last year when the prerunner meet was held. I think I saw atvlifestyle out there last year!

I need to ride in one of those trucks before I spend big money on my truck for a mid-travel...:frusty:

I might try to make it down there next weekend for the "prerunner Invasion":dancingbacon:

I plan on putting the easy ups at the end of the beach again. Come up and introduce yourself. The more the Merrier.

When I was there last year I want to say you were the only Tacoma that was present. Most of the others were rangers, one titan, and one sierra.

When did you see all of us? Were all the truck lined up for a pic like below?

Most of my dune buddies are rangers. I beams up front are the easiest cheapest way to have big travel up front. There will be at least one other tacoma this year. There are also some jeeps and such that aren't prerunner ish at all.

I just saw everyone as they were driving around. I never saw any of the line up shots like you just posted.

Yeah, I saw some jeeps "pretending" that they were prerunners.... That's always entertaining.

That should be cool to see another Taco there though! :headbang:

My truck was actually in a limp mode last year because of a bad knock sensor. I was running half azz but I was still able to get around because the URD fuel stuff was trying to make up for it.

We have a good time no mater what you drive. There is all level of trucks even amongst the rangers. We destroyed one of my buddies cherokee on friday night last year. It is well built and does good, but he just made a mistake. Just remember the brake pedal is not your freind.

Very true, as long as your out there and your having fun, thats all that matters.
Yeah, things can go from great one second to a disaster. Its as easy as going over a dune and there being a witches nest right there.
I usually get down to the dunes like 10 times a year and it always blows my mind that right when you are getting use to the dunes, the wind changes and in a matter of an hour, the entire dunes can change.
I almost had a bad wreck last year because where the sun was in the sky, it was hard to distinguish where the crests of each dune were and next thing I knew I was 20 feet in the air with the nose of the quad dropping fast, not a good feeling

Most of my close calls have been on a quad. Scariest was probably in my younger days. We were jumping a good size dune and I bent an axle. Didn't notice till I hit the air the next time. It was bent enough that it almost spun me around in the air. I landed facing sideways but held onto it. Then of course I was expecting it to happen so had fun moving around in the air.

Only really had one in my truck.

Yeah, its bound to happen out at the dunes. It always makes for interesting stories though!

I used to have a couple YFZ's. Always fun in the dunes. Pics of some of my quads. I just got rid of the last one around the first of the year. Got rid of a pile of YFZ parts also.
