just got this truck about 2 months ago. and im going to get new tires. b4 chase season starts for running bear. it has 225/70 on 15 inch wheels. so i have how much bigger are 31 1050s than these tires. does anyone have a picture of there stock truck with 31s and does it rub. i dont want it rubbing because this truck is not a pavement princess

If it is a 4wd model most 31x10.50x15 won't rub. I had a set of destination mt's on mine that rubbed at full lock without leveling the truck. I now run Michelin ltx 31x10.50x15 and no issues.

Look at my sig. Stock 15"s with 31s. No rubbing. These trucks can handle about a 32.5" tire stock

Here's a better pic. I'm running Goodyear Wrangler Authority tires, found exclusively at Walmart. They're very aggressive for an all terrain, but are cheap and dig/clear awesome. There's a guy on here with a review, he's got more miles then me. Another guy I wheel with has them on his jeep and loves them. Says they're the best tire he's ever had

What's gonna kill you is seeing as how your a 96 4cyl 5speed, I bet you have 3.58 diff gearing. Going up from 225-31 is a big jump, and your gonna feel it, the trucks gonna be real sluggish

You will see a big difference in performance for sure. I had 95 reg cab 2.7 5 sp. Came with 358 gears. Went larger tire and hated the difference. Stock was 225/75/15. Put some used ones on and see what you think before spending on new. I rode those for a whole damn year!

Chances are if truck came with 31's, it was geared to handle the larger tires.(4.10 prob.)

His came with 225s. Those tires on a 4cyl 5 speed is probably 3.58 gears. He'd just have to look at his door code

Yeah I like running bears while also running beers. Best when you are passenger holding gps antenna. It's still a culture in some areas in va. And yah, the 358 gears are turds.
