That would save you a ton of work to be honest with you. The bumper cover alignment has been one of the more difficult parts.

    Thanks.

A couple of notes while I'm here.

    1) You don't need the bumper reinforcement brackets, parts numbered 52026-04010 Left side and 52025-04010 Right side. You only need the bumper reinforcement bar, part number 52131-04030.

    2) You will need a couple of bolts;
90109-06325. Quant 2. They bolt the bumper cover to the bumper support bracket (lower), part number 52525-04020 (2).

    3) I'm not sure if the clips for the fender flairs and the lower grill and fog lights are all the same. They show the same part number. Anyway there are a total of 21 clips. 7 on each fender flair, one on each fog light and 5 on the lower grill.

    4) I bought aftermarket fog lamps. The bulb it came with is different than the harness on the truck. I'm going to need to switch the harness end on the truck to use the lights.

    5) The bumper support brackets (lower) are supposed to be riveted onto the reinforcement bar. I used nuts and bolts to attach them.

I was not clear on several assembly steps when I had the parts all laying on the table. Most of it became very clear when I took the bumper cover off.
A couple of things I had to figure out were The headlight brackets and the bumper filler retainer bracket. Neither of them are on the older model. These both clip onto the support assembly in square holes. And they must be installed before the bumper cover is installed.

If I think of more, I'll make notes.

on mine they were very different, the center reinforcement bar, the groove the side bars fit into was wider than the side bars. and curve was a little different, i guess you could make it work, but they were different.

as for the fog lights... if ya gonna change the bulbs anyway swap them with 9005 HID'S, ya have to shave the plastic on the bulb a hair but will fit, 9005 is the standard bright lights on a car. get something around (TRUELY, NOT JUST ADVERTISED) 5600K to max 5800K they will be pure white and clear and bright as hell :)

i think you can get kits now for under $100

all in all, im still jealous how yours came out so great and the cost was so low. EXCELLENT JOB! :)

    cheers,

Disco, I think you may be thinking about the upper bumper supports. I'm speaking about the reinforcement bar, the square aluminum bar below that bolts to the frame with the aluminum brackets.

And thanks for the kind words. I'm sure some, or a lot of the cost savings came from using aftermarket parts in place of OEM. And I've paid for that savings in alignment problems. But it will be issues only I see, or perhaps the eye of a skilled body man.

Looks great man! I was planning on doing this to my 05 when the TRD grille comes out. Got a question. Does the old hood fit with the new front end? Btw glad to see u can use the old fenders. Great write up, I'll be using this in the future!

The hood is completely different. I took the opportunity to go with the scoop hood. Rock Auto was only a few bucks diff between the two. $128.79 to $132.79. No brainer for me.

Cool thanks man. That's for taking the time and putting up part #s. Yeah I have no scoop on mine either. I'll definitely be doing the scoop if I got to buy a new hood.

    Looks great!

Do you think the paint will be off a little bit because your other paint is 8 years old? Or has the original paint been taken care of well?

    No sweat Disco.

The guy I'm using for paint is good. He's going to blend it back onto the fenders and A-pillars. With the paint code we can get it close but it would be off if he didn't blend it.
    Thanks for the question.

naw, should be ok, a good body/paint man color matches to adjust for the sun exposer and then they prep and paint fenders and the doors also if needed to blend.

    should come out great

I went out and took a few more picks. A few of the parts I didn't get during assembly. Hope they can be helpful. Sort of hard to see some of them, but once you disassemble the front end, it will all make sense. Here we go,,,,,,

You can see how I tapped and bolted the bracket to the reinforcement bar instead of using rivets. Front bumper support (lower) left and right.
    52525-04020

Front support (left and right) 52138-04020 and
52137-04030. These attach to the reinforcement bar on the corners and attach to the fender.

A couple of different angles of the headlight bracket. 53271-0B010.

Some shots of the filler support brackets (52531-04010) and the upper retainer fasteners, (little white clips). Hard to see but hope it helps.

Great job man. I considered doing this 2 years ago. I love the new nose. It is really sleek and sharp looking. It really looks awesome, can't wait to see painted. I was quoted $3800 for all the parts from Toyota. You got a heck of a deal. I wouldn't worry about having perfect lines. It still looks great.
