    Yeah saw some of the events planned. I am planning on the one in August to Morrison/Sawtooth/Goose Lake. I've spent a lot of time in the Beartooths when I used to live in Billings. Looks like it could be a good time.

    Starting the bumper tomorrow. Took the day off so that my bro and I could have a whole day to work together. Hope to have frame brackets, much of the main body of the bumper at least tacked together and welded to the frame brackets and most of the cuts done for the other pieces by the time we have to stop. Crossing my fingers!

    Sorry man, I am having difficulty buying into the lack of oil theory.

    You drove it a helluva long way before it failed due to lack of lubrication. Remember, the pinion and that bearing were spinning from the moment the truck was rolling again after the regear. It did not fail until you used 4WD.

    I think there is another possibility. Maybe it was not setup properly in the first place. IMO, this seems more possible than lack of oil. Those diffs are notoriously difficult to setup. Just sayin...

    haha. One of these days, someone will actually measure the amount the pinion flange gets raised by a diff drop kit. Until then, it is pure speculation that the diff drop has all the deleterious effects you attribute to it. :p

    No no, not pictures. Pics are wide open to interpretation. An angle finder will tell the story. How many degrees is the pinion shaft raised? And what is the impact on bearing life for every degree it is raised? :rolleyes:

    So last week I went in to diagnose a trouble im having at the dealership and just had my fuel pressure checked. 10 minute job, including the 5 minute pressure hold wait time. Charged me for half an hour $51.94, they sent out an email asking to fill out a survey about my recent experience, i half assed told them they over charged me for this job blah blah blah, so they replied back with we are sorry to hear this, how about a $15 oil change. I just laughed. No way. Ill bet i walk out with a bill over that. No thank you screwlearship. I have had enough of you. I try to avoid them at all cost, but they were the only one available to do it that next day.

    I doubt it is a purely a linear correlation, we will need to do a regression line on the curve i am assuming that will be closer to exponential than linear.

    Does that consider the sloshing effect too. Hard stops and long, steep, downhill events will have a bearing (sic) too.
