It was so hard on Pugga's bank account that he went and bought a Ford to try and avoid all of the Toyota mod-related expenses!

And this site still ended up making me spend my money on Ferd mods!!!

Speaking of Ferds though, I got absolutely smoked by an Ecoboost this morning. That thing is an f-in rocket!
That doesn't stop a lot of people here, just makes us more creative

That's kind of surprising; according to the C&D articles I've read the 0-60 times for the 5.0 and the Ecoboost are pretty similar (around 6.5-7 seconds).
Did you not realize you were racing him?

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.

A lack of funds won't stop us, just increases our desperation to mod!

    Welcome aboard!

No, I wasn't trying to race him, but I was trying to get out ahead of him because I needed to be in that lane after a little bit. I didn't floor it but I definitely took off quicker than normal. Apparently he was in the opposite predicament and needed to be in my lane so he mashed on the skinny pedal and dusted me. I know mine could have accelerated faster than I did but I was surprised how quick his got off the line.

Sounds like you need a cold air intake, a performance exhaust system, a new set of lightweight alloy wheels, a performance chip, some go-fast off road lights, swap Royal Purple for all your fluids, and some $15 performance spark plugs.

    Mostly:D

I haven't really looked into what actually helps this engine performance-wise. I love the sound of the V8 rumble that comes with a nice exhaust system but I don't think that would be a good idea when traveling with an infant so that's likely out. I think it's safe to say the intake is out for the same general reason unless I find out they actually provide some real benefit, unlike in the Tacoma. I have the go-fast off road lights, just need to install them :). I'm sticking with Motorcraft oil on this one. It's relatively inexpensive and is rated very well. I'd never go with RP anyways, that crap is a joke. I used Mobil 1 on my Tacoma but using that in the Ferd would mean $80 oil changes . Jury is still out on spark plugs and chips although aside from a programmer, I don't see any chips worth buying.

No stop putting ideas in my head dammit!

I was joking about all of it anyway.
Although, I bet that a Flowmaster Hushpower would lull your kid to sleep ;)

Brandford eh? Checkin in from Saybrook myself. Good old shoreline!

We will see how the modding goes. Once I can figure out exactley what I need, then the creative purchasing can begin :D
