I just dont have trailer brakes, but the trailer its self doesnt have brakes, should be fine though. I'm not too worried about that. I've done a lot worse without the trailer brakes

I've hauled some pretty big boats behind my first gen without trailer brakes perfectly fine. I'm in the process of adding a trans cooler at the moment

Yeah :) that will be nice! Im sure it will haul fine. Im excited though to actually haul a load behind it. Usually for these types of things I had my diesel so I never needed to use the yota. But now that the diesel is gone its time for the yota to step it up :)

ahh ok makes sense, I hauled a lot with my diesel and usually really long trips so the temp gauge was a life saver at times.

I use my scanguage to watch my trans temp. That overheat light supposedly turns on way too late, by the time it's on your trans is already cooking. I've got a long tru cool kit that I just have to install

Good to know mine has never come on. I pulled my trans at 222K due to a leaky pump seal and had the trans built for serious play time trans fluid looked great so that B&M cooler is doing it's job. Side note i also have a HD shift kit in mine.

I run a bluetooth ODB II reader paired with my smart phone to get ECU stats and one of them is engine temp.

It's cheaper but the only problem with that is you got to set it up every time you get in. And my scangauge can do stuff I bet that app can't, like mpg. Could be wrong, I'm just guessin it doesn't

Jami, do you just need a brake controller to have the full 7 pin? If so that is easy. The v6 with tow package, from what I remember, comes without the brake controller, but has all the wires needed up front already to install one. If you don't have the 7 pin already, it is still easy to install the brake controller, aux12v, and reverse light stuff. I can help you with that when I am over next month. I am getting some sliders from Jake.

After the initial pairing of the phone to the adapter the first time all you have to do is start the app on the phone and wait about 30 seconds, sometimes less. The app does mpg, and can also pull GPS stats such as speed and altitude if the phone has a GPS chip.

I have the tow package, so yes I have the 7 pin, but the dirt bike trailer is a 4 flat so going to wire a new one in. My truck got rear ended and who ever did it (they didnt leave a note) was in a small car because they went under my truck and broke the 7 way plug in. So I got a new one that has both a 4flat and a 7way. I know i can but the clip in replacement one from toyota but it was too expensive for me. So I went with this option.

thanks though!! I will have it wired in tonight. We were going to last night but ran out of time and energy. So tonight it is.

Oh man you've been busy! yeah I just am the only person "going alone" so basically the only Single chick going all the single guys are going together. haha but I'm hauling a lot of crap. but I was able to get some of the guys to come help me last night and one is coming over tonight to help more. Its a lot for one girl to get done haha but the canopy is on the truck and fully loaded. Have to take the 80 to the bike shop today and get a tube put in the front tire, then load the trailer with the toys. and re wire my plug and then Ill just have to hitch up and go on thursday!

Hoping we can get my quad going... but its not cooperating. of course....

well it will turn over... but wont fire... probably a fuel issue. Got a new spark plug coming today. The quad has been sitting for a year. So cleaned the carb and changed the fuel. the pull start was broke and so was the electric start. I had an electric start so we just put the electric started in since the recoil started was ridiculously expensive. and now it just turns over but wont fire.

Well that sucks! I am thinking it probably is the spark plug but I'm not certain since I can't see the engine lol.
