Speaking of a meet, I want to ask y'all Des Moines guys a favor of sorts....

    The backstory:
The woman I rent my shop from is chronically ill with Lyme Decease and a few other illnesses. Her health is not great and my rent payment helps her out since she is pretty much bedridden.

Anyway, her non profit Lyme Decease awareness group is putting on a rally at the Des Moines capital building May 10th from 1-3pm to raise awareness in the area. She asked me to attend, so of course I feel obligated and will be there.

I don't want to be the only one there though. She said I can do my own thing, so I'm thinking we should turn it into a truck meet. Just get together and BS for a few hours in the hot May sun. That's all we need to do. She said we could do a poker run type thing around town if we want. The only request is you wear green or put something green on your truck.

Here's the facebook page, even though it's pretty much dead and boring.

I forgot that I am not really free Saturday May 3. I am spending part of the day with my dad. If there are guys interested in going to MIOBI on Saturday I will see if he can ride with me. Sunday May 4th I am open as of now.

So just to get the details all in one spot...

Alex, you are coming on Friday? Are you wanting to camp Friday, or stay at my place? I will probably be working on my truck Friday to get ready. I have to weld up more of my front bumper, work on rock sliders, put on my winch and synthetic rope, and mount my hi lift.

Kurt can go Saturday, but might not camp. I will camp if Alex is. I can bring my grill so we can cook.

It might be a little wet down there if it rains most of the week like they claim.

I will be driving down friday night and arriving about 7 o'clock. We would like to camp if Kurt can get the land owners permission. I think we should wheel Saturday and then we would drive back Saturday night.

This is all dependent though on how wet it will be down there of course since I don't have sliders yet.

Both weather.com and iphone weather say low of 39 and snow.

Maybe y'all are too far south.

Nice and shiny! Must have changed the paint on Hi Lift jacks. Mine has a red handle.

It's the hi lift extreme so it is plated instead of painted. I scored it for cheaper than the base model too.
