I just saw a bunch of videos that guy posted on frontrange4x4.com from that same run. He made the entrance to Indy look pretty easy.

Sweet! I went and checked the videos out. It's funny because right as most of us were like "He's on is drive..." PING! lol

I like that site a lot. Cool people and very diverse rigs. Gives me a lot to think about before building a trail only rig in the future.

Yeah it was a few years ago when I did. I joined and posted up and some dude in a taco was being real rude (and clique-ish) for some reason towards me, oddly enough that's mentioned on one of the rules, and so I stopped reading it haha. Maybe it's changed now.

I made a wonderful discovery today... I realized that my Lug nut key was missing. I'm thinking that the last place to rotate my tires kept it on accident. Luckily I was able to use a combination of a 13/16 socket and a 6 lb sledge to get them off and replaced with a normal GD lug nut.

my key on my FJ80 stripped out... so I took it to firestone and they took it off for me. I don't know what they normally charge as I made a deal with them that I'd pay for them to put on my winter tires (I was gonna do it myself) and they took off the locks for free.

I am literally going to big o tires in foco because when they switched out my ATs for my MTs I think they kept one of my lug nuts. Of course they are locking lugs...

just my .02 on Big Zero tires and Discount Tires...I feel the need to rant about my personal experiences. In know some people like them for whatever reason, I tried them too. I've used Discount for years, I can only be burned so many times.

Big Zero, not much nice I can say about them. Bastards sold me a set of black steel rims several years ago. They rubbed the brake calipers. Also one was almost shaped like an egg. I confronted them about it, they said the rubbing on the calipers was slight enough to not worry about it.
The egg shaped wheel, well that is apparently why they balance tires according to them, to take care of out of round wheels, again,

Also when I confronted them, and I was polite, as mistakes happen, they were immediately offensive and called every guy in the shop out to stand around me and shake their heads in disbelief that I could actually be complaining about something so trivial.
I call Bullshit. I'll never go back.

Discount Tire, they are reputable, they stand behind everything they do, they don't sell garbage or off brand tires. They do good work.
    That being said...
They do however way overbook themselves. When I make a tire appointment it better be filled within 30 minutes, maybe an hour max, not 5 hours later as I'm waiting in the parking lot losing business. This is no exaggeration either. I understand delays happen, but this is not the case, I call it corporate greed plain and simple. As long as customers are in line, as late as 5:00 pm, you will hear the same thing, "you are next in line and should be about a 45 minute wait"...

I should not have to take a day off work to simply buy tires and have them installed.

This has happened so often I refuse to go back. I know they lost a store last winter, but even before that store went down, the wait time was pretty much the same, 3-4 hours to get your tires installed. I don't have time to wait around. That's what the appointment is for, kind of like going to the dentist...

Kind of like when my customers make an appointment to see me, I better damn well be ready for them at the prearranged time. Or I lose the business...

I go to M&O Tire now. They beat Discount pricing and have a better warranty. They do not prorate their warranty by the remaining tread life, if your tread is still usable but you have a damaged sidewall or shredded tire, you get a new tire for the cost of installation only. Tire is free. I've had to take advantage of this one time on the van for a nail in the edge of the tread. No problems, no excuses. Pulled the van in to fix it and backed it out with a new tire.
Wait times are right at 30 minutes, in and out the door. I've done both my work van and the Taco there as well as my daughters car, zero complaints.

It is a tiny store, looks almost sketchy, I went in there in desperation last summer needing 2 tires for the van Right Now and they hooked me up.

So use whoever you like, just relaying my personal experience. Might be worth a look for those living here in Fort Collins.
