Yep, its pretty much the same for all genres. Most of the shit the radio will play for all the genres is made with plug and play formulas. I listen to a LOT of old stuff for every genre haha.

Can't stand the shitty corporate country. It blows.

Been really into Drive By Truckers for quite a while. Excellent songwriting, good blend of musical styles - with a definite country emphasis.

I listen to SOME country, but I usually start cussing and yelling at the radio of certain "artists" come on. Reba Macintire and Sara Evans could die and I would not mind. A bit harsh, I know, but it's just how I feel.

This does a fair job of summing it up. http://music-mix.ew.com/2013/10/01/country-music-identity-crisis/

With the exception of Kacey Musgraves I can't think of a single true country female artist. Its really, really sad. Country used to have some really good female artists, but they have basically all disappeared.

The sad thing is that a lot of the bro-country is coming from guys that can and have made legitimate, good country music. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, etc are all capable of it but they insist on recording and defending this shit they do for frat boys and sorostitutes. Those people wouldn't know a field if you dropped them in the middle of it or the first thing about even hooking an implement up to a tractor. They have their cute little cookie cutter country scene they think is cool and these guys keep giving them shit songs for their fantasy. Gets real old! Country music isn't supposed to be cool!

This cool country music you speak of is what brings in the big money for them. John Mayer can rock a guitar hard, but he makes his money by gently strumming and wooing people with it.

not a fan of country, I usually switch stations or turn off the radio when I hear it come on. I normally listen to npr or 1190 on am radio in the mornings to get news/traffic report. Rush limbaugh cracks me up when he comes on with his outrageous responses. Back in the day I use to listen to whatever pop was on but now I dont as much in my morning commutes in traffic.

Quick question for y'all, im about to be relocated "out west" that's as specific as they know haha.

I was going to put in for either Oregon, Colorado, or Washington.
Do y'all like it and also is it a pretty good place for a 23yr old?
Will be relocated for my job.

Washington is awesome for the 20-30 crowd. Plenty of outside stuff to do, lively night life.. pretty good natured people. But I've been in the army for 6 years out here so maybe my views are different than a civilians.

But Jonnie, I thought those were my rewards for you to be my friend...:(

Don't come to Oregon or Washington if you don't like microbrews, mountains, or morons blocking the roadways (aka traffic jams). Seattle area traffic is among the worst in the country (not #1, but somewhere in the top 10). Also WA is an open carry state, so you are free to carry your pistol exposed almost anywhere you go. Seattle doesn't typically get cold, and not much snow. When it does snow, 1/2" is all it takes to shut down the city and keep people from driving.

I love being outside and microbrews so both of those are good. And I'll handle the traffic. And thats sorta like it is here in SC but only need a dusting and the roads are closed haha.

hmmm portland area has lots of female chow...if you know what i mean. OR/WA = rain like Noah's ark...which means more of an excuse to sit indoors, play video games, drink and have sex

I'd consider, but my boss is in Europe and im doing Washougal Practice Saturday.
