Planning on putting 265/75/16 BFG AT on Thursday. Not planning on lifting anytime soon. Can you run these tires without removing mud flap?

I have no rub with mine, cooper atp. I removed my mud flaps after the 1st day own owning them so I can't verify if they rub the flap.
If you want I can go turn my wheel and snap some photos

Was just wondering, really didn't want to remove them, but if I got to I will. Not going smaller! I would like in the future maybe leveling, but got to do some research in which way to go on that issue.

my first set of tires after stock were 265/70/16 and i moved up to 265/75/16 and i couldnt be happier. they look a lot better than the last. the cooper tire i went with is a great tire so far, offroad and on road manners are awesome.

That is the perfect tire size and the speedometer is correct using 265/76-16. No rub, mud flaps have nothing to do with the tires...But honestly, the second gen hard plastic flaps are a joke for off roading as they snap off when you drop into ruts, off rocks or from too much mud sticking to them!

I kept re-attaching them to my '05 and when I got my '10, I removed them after the first time one snapped off when the truck was a month old! My wife suggested it and said the truck looks better (more truck-like) without them! In the 4 years running without them I see no advanced gravel scarring on the paint.

I have to go against the majority on this one.

I recently upgraded to the same size tire (Duratracs :D Love em) I HAVE experienced some VERY MINOR rubbing a couple times when in reverse at full lock. It doesnt do it every time, but when it does, the right front tire will catch on the FRONT MINI FLAP (the little short plastic part that sticks down in front of the front tires....... WTF is that thing for anyway) I thought about taking it off but it hasnt really bothered me enough to get my tools out to do it yet. LOL

And like stated before..... my speedometer was always slightly off on my stock tires that came on the truck new, I put on the bigger Duratracs and it is now SPOT ON!

Pretty sure that is the size that came stock on my TRD O/R? Or maybe 265/70/16. Only 5% more isn't going to make a difference, is it?

Stock on the Off Road is 265/70-16 (~31"). The 265/75-16 is about 32".

    It makes two differences:
    1) Speedometer is correct
    2) Adds 1/2" of ground clearance

    Also more tire choices.

I put on 265/75/16's and had no rubbing with standard mud flaps. Since then I've trimmed 2" - 3" off the flaps to try to stop ripping them off when off road..

Not all tires are the same diameter with any size. The Duratracs run bigger...hell they almost look the same size as my 285/75/16 BFGs lol

I have 265/75-16s on two sets of rims. My snows are on stock steel wheels and they fit without any rubbing at all - plenty of clearance. I got aftermarket wheels with a 4.5" backspace and they rubbed the raised parts of the flaps. I cut and formed those raised pieces flat with heat and they no longer rub. Backspacing also drives rubbing - not just diameter. From what I've seen posted, most with regular stock wheels don't rub.

Has Anyone tried 265/75/16 michelin AT2 (on stock Offroad wheels) without trimming the mudguard or inside fender plastic?

    Thanks,

    Stock for now
I ran 265/75/16 BFG AT's with the stock TRD OR suspension for 3 months (including off road) without any rubbing and no trimming or modifications, and I'm still using them now with a 2'' lift. Great tires, but be aware that they will fuck your gas mileage!

Ranch Topper, Bull Bar.....Yes, I know everyone thinks they are crap, I like the look
I put 265/70/17 which I beleive are the same height and width as 265/75/16.
Mine rub when I turn hard into the drive way and the tire is pushed up by the incline.
    Rubs on the mud flap.....slight.
Gonna remove flaps, should cure problem.
