What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I guess I'm lost. Do they draw a lot of amperage? You don't need a relay and separate fuse and all that wire if you do it like I suggested. The reverse light signal is already relayed and switched.

 

Sounds like you're trying to over complicate things...

If you want to power the lights without using OEM wiring you'll just have to run a long wire.

 

They are on for like 27 seconds on average. I've left mine on for 4 hours as a nice work light and nothing happened. The wires didn't melt and no fuses blew.

 

Do what I did. I have "eagle eye led" things that are spliced right into my right back up light. + and - from the OEM tail light back up light. Just crawl under the back end, take off the tail light to see what wires you're tapping into. You are over complicating it. Or am I missing something...

The amperage is what matters. Mine pull 1 amp each. It doesn't matter to me, run the harness if you want. I have nothing to lose or gain from it. I'm just trying to offer a simple solution.

 

Are you just trying to play safe and wire everything perfectly?

It's a new thing from out-of-the-country sellers. They provide a kid to help with installation.

My neighbor suggested using the fiberglass infused bondo and I'm glad I listened to him because it seems super strong and came out great. Unfortunately I used the whole can on both sides though so I need a little more for the bed haha..

 

Caught a breath of monte's second wind tonight. I was tired of studying so I set out to get some wiring done.
Before, I had 5 power wires and 2 ground wires just shoved through the fire wall, it was a mess. Now I wrapped it all in plastic and its together now, nice and tidy. I still have the interior to deal with and clean up tomorrow.



The 4 power wires all bunched up together.

 

Reminds me that I have more wiring to do.... Haha

yup! got bored of studying and the clock is ticking for moab! I have to get stuff done when ever I have free time, in this case i held a flash light in my mouth for 2 hours rewiring my engine bay

but fuck me that single square LED light...is bad ass. Just so bright for how small it is. its perfect for the rear of the truck. Wish I had it last month when brady and I were snow wheeling and we had to back up almost a mile of narrow mountain trail in the dark.
