Put so,e LEDs on your bed rack facing down. Hood of course. Or put them under the bed rails to fill the bed with light. Put the pod on the bed rack for a rear light. Be higher up and closer to the back.

well the pod is already mounted. and i can face it straight back for light. or angle it down into the bed and it covered everything. I think im good for bed light. I need somewhere ELSE to put it. and i already planned on doing some under the hood

hmmm. sort of like monte's mirror lights.

I kind of just want to attatch them to a pole with a hook and a switch, and a long line of wire. that way I can have a flash light type thing, but its running off the truck. so i could hang it off something for light or even throw it in my tent haha

The current rear light works for the bed until your rack is in. It'll block most the light. Plus will gear back there.

If you want to do a light off the truck for whatever. Here is how to do it.

Get a 12v socket like I have in my bed. Install it in the bed and wire it up.

Find an old car charger or something and steal the 12v plug off it. Go get like 25' of paired wire from radio shack. Thicker the insulation, the better as you'll be dragging it everywhere. Wire only needs to be 16ga probably. Maybe 18 depending on how many LEDs you use.

Then hook the LEDs to the wires. Install the LEDs on something of your choice. A simple wood dowel would suffice or go get some 1" or 1.5" galvanized conduct. I'd get like 2' and put strips of LEDs 1' long 360 degrees around. Wires could run up the center. Be like a big light wand.

Go get a band handle grip for the bottom

I can make you one as you'll want to solder for sure for something like that..

 

Led strips aren't good for fill lights really. He might as well wait to get some more actual lights with optics for side lights.
