I have been watching for a set of take offs for about a month now. I thought I would like them on my silver 2007 4x4 TRD AC. I see from your truck I really do like them and will get more serious now. Although I like the look with the lift but I'm hoping they will fit without one. I have a 65 Corvette that takes most of my spare change so I am on pretty strict budget on the truck.
    Thanks for the reply.

    this and that...
sky: i believe they will fit without a lift. reason being, is that i have a ton room and turning radius with my lift, so i guessing you could get away with it at stock height. especially if you were gonna go with the stock tacoma tires (265/65/17) vs the stock trail tires (265/70/17). and i feel you. i wouldnt want to take project monies away from my garage queen . thats how i am with my truck. its relegated to weekend duties LOL. my daily is a little old 4cyl mazda 6 that gives me great gas mileage and the versatility i need for a daily.

EDIT: just noticed someone on the site is selling their fjc wheels.

Xer0. I was thinking of using the 265/70. I think that is the stock size on the Sport. I wasn't sure if the slight offset difference would be an issue and I'd like the bigger tire look and hoping it would also help the gas mileage. The old car gets better mileage! I saw those wheels for sale. I they were closer I'd be calling. The Corvette is by no means a garage queen. It is my daily driver for most of the year and we've long hauled a couple HRPTs.
    Thanks

265/70/17 are stock on an FJ I think, but 265/65/17 are stock on the Sport. All FJ wheels to my knowledge stick out a bit further than Tacoma wheels, therefore you may have to loose front mud flaps to avoid rubbing if you choose 265/70/17. If you stay with stock size 265/65/17 I would expect you would be able to keep you front mud flaps on even with FJ wheels.

Question...I was also looking to run the 17" FJ sport 6 spoke wheels like the ones Neil99's blue tacoma has. I have a set of aftermarket Eagle 17x9 wheels with 285/70-17's and 3" lift. Can I run the wheels with the 285's and no spacers due to the offset of the FJ wheels??

Thanks for the idea guys. I found some used FJ wheels and had them powdercoated. I really like the fit of the FJ offset. Thanks for the help.

Mine fit great with an aggressive mud terrain in 265 70 17. Stock suspension. Switching back to AT for a smoother ride though. Good luck!

I just bought a set if FJ steelies and I want to run an aggressive all terrain tire with them. I was hoping the offset would allow a bigger tire than 265/70, but I don't see many offerings from the different manufacturers that could work. The damn TPM sensors are giving me fits. I want to be able to interchange my stock wheels so I can buy a nice set of off-road tires for trips and such, and not just burn through them on my commute.

Not sure how they'll clone my current set without one in hand, I don't see any serial numbers in my literature.

I've got a buddy who runs these rims on his fj with 285/70/17 Duratracs and they don't rub the uca.( small lift from the blisten shocks) So what's different between the tacoma and FJ?? I didn't think these rims would work on a tacoma with a 285 tire and you would need wheel spacers but the fj didn't need them to fit.

just curious on if this tire size would fit on the 17" Fj wheels (265/65R17)?

I have a chance to buy 5 07 anthracite wheels with BFG KO's for 1400... I am really tempted after looking at this thread.

Here's my 2001 with FJ Cruiser wheels. It has an 2" OME lift. I love the look but they do feel a bit at the limit wrt braking. I may do the Tundra upgrade to help with that...

Here's mine with 285/70/17 duratracs. They used to rub my uca at full lock in reverse. I just installed LR UCA's and they don't rub anymore. And the offset of the wheels still has the tires under the fender so I have no kick up. The FJ rims have a BS of 4.5 which makes the wheels stick out a bit more thus giving you more clearance for larger/wider tires.
