As a matter of fact the company that I was studying in college (intern) BJ/hughes/Titan originally from Texas, left my area ( West Virginia ) to drill out there and ran into hard times, the oil is out there in that region, if I recall correctly could supply the U.S. for quite some time, maybe it time to fire the rigs up ! Average price in Rochester NY is $3.67 :(

As far as gas prices go, it doesn't matter how much oil they drill if they don't allow more refineries it won't lower prices of gas and oil.Even then, when the govt pushes for 15% ethanol they will say there is a grain shortage and the price will go up yet again.

Our refineries aren't equipped for the oil that they're pulling out up there. The companies want to ship it all over seas:eek: And it sounds like they may change the laws so they would be allowed to do just that. That would in turn push our prices (at the pump, heat our homes) higher.
