I don't think a turbo on the gas is a good idea. I'm far from an expert but wouldn't that add lots of cost and add more possible problems down the road?

A small turbo diesel would be a nice option though

Just a bunch of old crap
The article is blowing up the Colorado like it's even in competition with the Tacoma. Since when has the Colorado even had a chance against the Taco? The only thing they have in common is that they are midsize trucks. One performs and stays on the road for years, and the other is a Chevy.

I agree, my g/f's RAV4 has the auto up/down and it drives me nuts. It's hard to get the window to stop where I want it.

Chalk me up as one that doesn't want the fob to be part of the key. I like to be able to separate those two items.

I'm glad I just picked up a '14 Tacoma. I don't really have a problem with Chevy(pretty happy with a Silverado for over 10 years), but I think the new Colorado is going to be too big & heavy, and look like an Equinox with a bed. My off-road 4x4 access cab is exactly what I was looking for....:)

Not interested in a turbo 4 cylinder gas engine, but I do hope they bring over the 3.5l that lexus is going to use in the RC with 315 hp.

I don't care what the current trends are with smaller displacement turbo charged engines, I still want a V8.

Effortless power is where it's at :rockband: :cheers:

The auto up, tailgate lock, pletha leather, etc... Can all be done after you get it, but it's not factory with warranty and all that. I get it. No big deal for me. To each his own.

I too like the separate key fob. But one thing I would add to the mix is dual climate control. If you never had it, it's awesome.

I agree, but it won't happen with current and upcoming regulations.

I'd rather not have the Tacoma turn into a "luxury pickup". If you want fancy key fobs and auto up/down windows and leather, and etc., maybe you should be looking at a different vehicle. I bought a truck to use as a truck. I wasn't buying a truck to hope it feels like a Lexus.

And I think that Colorado is FUGLY!

heres why I like my taco:

at 105k miles, it drives the truest of the 4 vehicles in my drive, and has been abused the most.

it is the quickest vehicle in my drive, in comparison to max gvwr ford 7.3, max gvwr chevy 6.0 (gas), and ford focus with 2.3.

having to change fluids and general service in my 4x4 taco is nothing compared service in my 2wd diesel. truth.

manual doorlocks and windows in my taco will not fail. ever.

n/a 4.0 is pretty easy to work on. straitforward design.

I don't want this truck to be ANY different

I will probably get a Canyon with the diesel option when available. My tacoma has not been anything like most on here have experienced. Many issues and reliability issues with mine along with poor fuel economy.
I will buy the best extended warranty and hope for the best when I get the canyon.

Unless Toyota redesigns the tacoma with a diesel. Then I will probably stick with the tacoma.
