gonna be a lot easier and probably cheaper to just do a real thick roll-on liner or get it professionally sprayed on (comes with a warranty).

I worked at a marina for a couple of years with mine, and it really didn't get too beat up. granted i wasn't loading engines or anything into the bed, but it was still full of stuff all of the time.

if you go flatbed you might as well go all the way. screw some cheap wooden thing. if you need dry storage have some boxes fabbed up and attached near the front or build them into the sides.

This ^^^ if you have proper fabrication tools. gonna need a good way to cut plate steel and a welder at the very minimum.

There is a dude here that made a flat bed. I'll try to find it. He has a build page too. I think a flat bad is sick. If I had a use for it I would do it. His is a straight rock crawler. For sure bad ass!!

its not a looks thing.... even wood would look good, but it would get beat up very quickly, however, i have seen many have good success with wooden decks, as they get beat up and can be replaced more easily then steel plate.

My plan is to use the existing bed mounting points and counter sink bolts through some maybe 2X6s as a frame for the bed. Then plank down some treated deck boards. Just worried about getting the bed off over the gas filler tube:confused:

Anyone have a guess as to how much fuel our tanks take when you actually fill it until the pump stops? My ultragauge seems to be a little off from many times of me going a little over the 21.1gal so i'm trying to figure on what i should set it to that will include the filler neck.... Any ideas?

It sounds good, and if you look around im sure someone has taken the bed off and posted a DIY thread.

The tank Capacity is 21.1 gallons, the gas light comes on when you have 3-3.5 left, i normally fill up with about an 1/8th tank left, just before the light comes on and it takes 16 and some change, id guess the change to be .3 or .4

Edit: might be able to order some lift parts soon

    Hi All

Looking for a little help. I am looking for a good mechanic / repair shop in the Gaithersburg area. My old shop changed hands and I don't trust them to work on my truck. Any recommendations or suggestions of reputable shops would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Rich
