Tap the sliders and hook up to a compressor to use as an air tank. Gotta be drilled at all joints prior to welding to maximize capacity, then air tested to make sure it doesn't leak.

Sliders that are airtight, and have fittings in them to be filled with compressed air.

The reason Derrick didn't sell his because of the liability, IMO the bedrack is a way better idea.

Liability of what? And didn't BAMF have a bed rack air tank?

Sliders getting worn down from use and the air pressure bulging or exploding the slider.

    I honestly don't know.

I thought I remember seeing a custom bed rack by them that had a tap for the air compressor I thought they had just ran an air hose through the inside of the rack but your idea makes much more sense

And it's a sad day when someone can sue over Stupid. That's like having your tire blow out with no tread left and sueing the tire company. Couldn't he just fix a warning label like under pressure or something.

    Not my idea, but thanks.
    Yeah.

I honestly don't know much about the legal side of things, but I imagine he'd be able to have them sign a waiver of liability.

Lol well I wasn't saying you were the first ever with it. I hadn't heard of it before. But to clarify the idea you were speaking of.

Yeah AL would be too soft.

Considering the fact that air tanks can explode with extreme force, similar to a bomb, sending small pieces of shrapnel everywhere I think its understandable. Especially considering it could blow going down the road and hit other vehicles, or a spotter on a trail in the middle of nowhere.

What kind of lead time is their on the standard rear bumpers with hidden hitch and sliders with kickouts?

I need mine by the beginning August so I can get them painted and mounted before elk season starts and was wondering when I needed to order. Thanks. The skids have been awesome BTW.

The roof screws are 6mm, yes. 30-35mm is plenty

Unfortunately I have not found tamper proof metric hardware. You could put a "cap" across the 6mm bolts and drill and tap a sae (1/4-20) hole in the center so they cannot be accessed. McMaster Carr sells a lot of tamper proof stuff
