Its a great wood. I actually just looked at a rot repair job this afternoon and i am trying to convince them to replace all their trim around the deck posts with cedar instead of pine. The actual decking is ipe which will last forever.

Hey Noel, that's a sweet set up you have. I have a 16x8 raised bed with a rain barrel set up but yours puts mine to shame.

I've pretty much decided on a cistern when I build as well. The design keeps changing in my head, but right now I'm leaning towards either having the cistern poured at the same time as the foundation, or just installing a 1500 gallon septic tank to act as a cistern once I get the house up.

It really is. And no chemicals required, which is why I used it in my garden beds. I buy it by the 8-foot board from the Maine Bucket Company (next to All Wheels in Lewiston) for $3.50 a board for planed 1x6's. At that price, can't beat it.

    Thanks!
I started out with a rain barrel and two 4x8 beds at our old house, and I went a little nuts with this place. But we bought the first one with the sole intent of flipping it in three years, so we didn't go nuts with the garden in case the people we sold it to didn't see a garden as a positive (which paid off, since they didn't. They'd rather just mow the lawn)
But this house we're planning on being in for a while, so we're doing what we want with it. It's still going to be a flip, but it's a much slower flip without a set exit date. And if the next owner's don't like what we've done with the place then they can change it!

I think I'm going to have to tally another vote for the "keep your trunks on" party here...

Not to bad. Make sure the timing chain guide is good and not eating into the water jacket. Otherwise adjust the valve lash and you're good to go. What are you looking at?

It's more miles than I'd mess with unless I knew that it was properly maintained and not beat to shit during those 178k miles.

    Definitely.
While you've got the valve cover off you can take the opportunity to check the Camshaft for wear too.

The whole state used to knock off the first $6000, and not tax any car over 10 years old. Now it's up to each city, and they tax anything no matter how old. Woonsocket only knocks off the first $500. The richer areas will still take off $6000. Worst thing is, is that my truck apparently doesn't depreciate more than a few dollars every year. 2 years in a row, Woonsocket had my truck at the same value down to the penny.

I'm not too worried as long as they can run good. Won't be run far or anything.

I don't really expect this to get much need here but, in case anyone knows someone who needs some Ferd tail lights:
    http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/pts/4447605466.html

I'm willing to work with someone on the price if you know someone who needs them. Just want them out of my garage.

Up in Maine, I highly doubt that! I got chided when I was up there for driving a Toyota and that's by someone I had never met while filling up at a gas station... There was a lot of 'I only drive 'Murican made trucks' up in that neck of the woods :jerkoff: That was up in Jackman though.

Up 'heah' we mostly seem to call 'em 'Toyoters' or 'Tacomers'

    *Dad's truck=GMC
    *Uncle's truck= Dodge
*Cousins= Either Dodge or Chevy/GMC (I have many cousins, you're not getting an individual list)
    *Brother= Mazda 3
    *Mom-Subaru
*Girlfriend's family are all hardcore GMC people. No Fords, no Dodges. 1 Chevy.
Coworkers all drive cars, except for my boss who has a Ford....RANGER! (your tail lights no fitto, so he was disregarded)
So nope. No association with Ferd F150 drivers except for you.

And I just realized that I'm the only Toyota fanboy in either my family or the GF's....

But man, you're impressionable. One comment on a trip to Maine and you jump ship to a "Murican" truck....

Hey now, that trip was about 5 years ago so it took me a while to jump ship!
