Why is everybody so scared of soldering?

 

I think its the fear of burning out your equipment.

 

cuz its SCIENCE.

Not afraid. Just haven't done it enough to trust myself on equipment. Although I did it to my cb.

This is the majority. But I will still be attempting it

 

Just don't wanna fuck it up. I'll be attempting my solder job sometime in a couple weeks after finals haha

 

LOL you are all complaining about soldering but are gonna do it anyway. BRILLIANT, it's a matter of buying a nice gun and having patience and some common sense. Not much more to it.

I have a Bud Built track bar for sale. Came off my 98 ext cab. Will only fit ext cab without electronic locker. $200. These are $425 brand new

 

That's what I learned on. Then I spent the $$$ to get a nice gun and that's that.

 

Soldering is pretty straightforward with a little patience and some practice.
This tested me, but still a nice challenge.

Hell you let me solder your expensive speakers when we first installed your stuff with one of those and my hands shake like Michael J Fox half the time.

Don't be scared its pretty hard to ruin something

 

True story! Really as long as you keep the heat to where you need it it's not hard. And on a speaker unless you put the iron through the cone or something it's pretty hard to ruin. Worst case the lead comes off and you just put it back on.

It's like welding. It is simple to make a strong ugly weld, but it is difficult to make a strong pretty weld.

 

Anyone in the market for an IN-DASH DVD/CD/I-POD? Thinking about buying a newer one here in the next couple months. Pretty sure I have the original box and all harnesses somewhere for it as well. Thinking 300 to let it go, has a minor scratch on the screen. Even though Eclipse is out of the market they are still selling for 700 new. Mine is 3 years oldish.... cant remember when I bought it. Here's the skinny on the unit, will come with Tacoma to eclipse soldered harness so it will be just a matter of plug and play for who ever buys it.
