Hahaa! I meant to warn you on your build thread. I mentioned something about having some of the TW Ga long timers setting up a meet in another one of the Ga threads somewhere lol, but didn't call you out like that haha

I say yes to the day trip and overnight.

Heard of em? I just made a new thread about it if you haven't seen it. Mostly jeepers, but they seem like a cool crowd.

I'm gonna take my dirt bike up there and ride it first before I drag my truck up there. I've got no armor on it and from I gather from pics, they've got some pretty gnarly trails. Actually I may try to get up there Saturday morning on the bike to scope it out. If it doesn't look to bad we'll have to try it in the trucks

Beasley or Tray Mtn? That may not be a bad idea. I need to get another dirt bike. I miss riding.

Man I just picked up a CRF250L, totally Street legal dual sport. Been an absolute blast so far, and can't beat 80mpg. uploadfromtaptalk1398898722991.jpg

^ nice, I'm wanting either a CRF250 or 450R, if not a KTM. My dad, brother, and I each had one for a while and it slightly spoiled me haha.

But, there's no doubt that you can't beat a honda value wise!

If Yamaha would make the WR450 Street legal that'd be my ideal bike. I don't get why they make the enduro with the headlight but won't throw turn signals on to finish it off. Irritating as hell.

There's not an aftermarket kit for them? It's been so long since I've ridden, I'm so far out of the loop lol

I would imagine so as long as you had everything you needed to make it street legal. I had a friend on base a few years back that took one of the CRF230Fs and made it street legal and made bank saving gas haha.

That is the dilemma for sure. I've had a couple WR's over the years also and would love for them to make a street legal one again. Great bikes! For example, KTM MSO's do not say "For off road use only" on them. In addition to this, the VIN number is the correct length so that when you do hit the tag office it does not raise flags. Yamaha and all the others that are not street legal do say "For off road use only" on the MSO so even if you get a lighting kit for it they will not issue you a title and tag for it. Been there done that. Stick with KTM if you wan to convert a bike to dual sport and you will have no issues. I've been riding KTM's for over 20 years and have always done this for dual sporting outings. Good luck with Yamaha or any of the others unless they are already street legal from the factory and even then they are plugged up bad with tree hugging goodies installed.

BTW, would love to join you all for a meet!!

Well there seems to be enough interest in getting something going so how does everyone wanna do this? Possible overnight camping trip maybe? Do some trail riding, then camp out / grill / etc? Or just a day thing where we can meet up, hit some trails and grab lunch / beers afterwards? I grew up in North Georgia but honestly don't know many good trails, I've got a few I play on with 4wd but nothing that's more than an hour or so drive. As far as camping goes, there's plenty of spots we can go ride and car camp on afterwards which would be fun.

Throw some ideas out, let's scheme on a weekend and get something in the calendar.

You know of any worthwhile trails up here? As far as 4wd stuff I've done Nimberwill gap and the rich mountain road of rock Creek a few times and both are fun, just kinda short. But they do have campsites along each one which is nice. We can go ride where ever and camp somewhere else of course.
