Yeah, rain here too--all this week and into next. At least I can sit on it and practice shifting gears or something...LOL! Probably have to bring it home in the truck bed all strapped down instead of hubby riding it home like we planned.

    Hey Charli,

I'm thinking of getting a CBR125 for the city commute. Its does 31.25 miles per liter or 118 miles per gallon. Gas is almost $5 a gallon here. Its supposed to go up to $8.62 in the near future.

I actually got it for less than MSRP too, so not bad at all. I've wanted to learn to ride for a long time, but hubby's old 650 was even too big for me (I'm 5'7", but pretty thin). He must really love me because the first time he let me try to ride the 650, I laid it down. It was only two days old. :( He didn't even yell though. I'll post pics of me on the bike as soon as I get it!

That sounds good--Wow on the mileage! The only 125 around here that I know of is the Eliminator, and we looked at that too, but the bike has to be for me and for Hubby, so since he is rather bigger than me (by about 130 lbs, we settled on the 250.

Hey Jamie, they go for about 3K Canadian around here. We can work something out and may be ship it to SC. I think its the only sane way to move in the future. l spend $550 a month just for gas at present.

good choice ! I work at a local suzuki/kawasaki shop the Gz 250 is a good bike for around town but I wouldn't want t0 take it on any real long trips (100+ miles a day) I have heard from our rep that the bike can get up to 85 MPH Have fun and if you have any questions just ask. :D

We got it! Hubby road it home and I got to try it for about three minutes before he had to go to work. I remained upright and managed to get up to 2nd gear. I'm really quite proud of myself. I'll get my kid to take a picture of me on it here in a little bit. :D

Very cool. Just remember that they're all out there trying to get you. Don't skimp on the gear. Buy good protection (full face helmet, gloves, boots, a hi-viz jacket and pants) and always wear it. I've walked away unharmed from a 40mph sliding get-off on my bike and the gear saved my skin.

If you can afford it, check out Motoport jackets and pants. I bought their Ultra-Air II Kevlar mesh jacket and mesh pants. Mesh is nice when it's hot or humid. With a liner in the jacket, I've ridden in temps as cold as 27 degrees and without the liner 100+ degrees. I had a Joe Rocket Phoenix mesh jacket and pants but the material doesn't even come close to the toughness of the Motoport. I'll never buy another jacket.

The Motoport website sucks and the pictures are crappy but it really is the best jacket out there (they're local here in San Marcos California).
