    X2 have you told the in-laws about your plans? Most people, in my opinion, would tell you to still go. If they chose to make last-minute plans, and didn't ask you guys for dates that's their fault. Plus it's your wife's family, so maybe they would enjoy being able to do something with her and not be too upset about you not being there anyway.
