Re-installing the plastic is no problem. No trimming for the back panel. the top panel will need to be trimmed to fit as the top is much wider.

AS Nathan said, if there are any issues that are not easily remedied yourself, take pictures and send them to us ASAP so we can get a damage claim filed with UPS. All packages are insured but the longer the wait before filing a claim the more likely they are to decline it.
Interesting, never seen that done! Looks more subtle, almost stock. But now you've got the peace of mind that it won't bend so easily. :)

It was no problem to straighten it out. It was quick with a block of wood and a hammer. It was just the corners of the top of the tailgate roll over part. The pre drilled holes were off on all but two, but that was easily fixed with the die grinder and since I put the plastic back on, you can't even tell.

Totally happy with it, great product. Now I'm just curious how much weight the tail gate cables can handle before snapping. :D

I just got mine yesterday. The curved end was pushed down just a bit, had to pull it out a bit. Even with the quick fix, it went on in ~20 minutes and with no drama. I would get pictures, but the parking garage here has horrible lighting.

I like that plastic reinstall look. Guess I will have to try that when I get mine.

Got my Relentless Fabrication black tailgate reinforcement put on the other day. It fits great. I put the large factory plate back on top, but not the small piece. The plate you get from Relentless is high quality and the black powder coating looks great.

The only thing I might do is get some plastic washers for the screws on the top of the tailgate, because when you don't reinstall the small factory plastic piece the shoulder of the bolt keeps the bolt head from sitting flat on the new aluminum plate. Not a big deal.

I'm very happy I put this on before I screwed up my tailgate. Relentless makes a great product. If you put anything of any weight on you tailgate I'd highly recommend ordering one.

I put mine on last weekend. Left the plastic off. Mine is aluminum so I just drilled the top holes out a little more to accommodate the shoulder bolts. Some of the other holes were a little off too, so I drilled them out a less than the top holes. It all fits great.
With the diamond plate some of the bolts don't sit flat but it's all good.
I used a piece of wood and channel locks to slightly bend the top lip in middle and applied camper tape to prevent scratching.
My tailgate now feels solid and looks awesome!

I'd love to get an smooth aluminum version but shipping is $62. Is there any way to get one to the east coast cheaper?

Has anyone had one LineX'd or Rhino lined?

Give us a call and I can manually quote out UPS on the reinforcement. If theres a few $$ difference between the site estimate and the actual rate I can have you place the order through the site and then refund the difference in shipping.

Hey Eric, now that I have diamond plate on the tail gate, can you make the same for the bed rail caps? Replace the black plastic stockers with diamond plate to match? Could you/ Would you ? Please.

Smooth is available, once again diamond plate would be a special run. I'd need a few orders of tail gate reinforcements and rail caps to make it worth while. Probably 3 reinforcements and 2 sets of rail caps. Or 4 sets rail caps and 2 tailgate reinforcements.

Oh no, here goes more $$. I was just thinking it would be nice to match the bed rails witch the tailgate now that it's DP.
Gearheadesw -- we should of planned better with the first special order!

If it's not right away I could be interested in a set of the DP rail caps. Trying to finish building a house, so it's hard to spend on mods right now.

I would also be in for one. Still trying to get the dealer to replace my tailgate. In the meantime, I might as well order one
