Nice rigs but i agree with the concerns voiced. Even secured, welded, bolted and clamped hardware can fail during an accident. The tools and goodies attached then become misiles and others including yourself are subject to harm even death. Specifically hilift jacks mounted front to back as their weight would snap most mounts in an accident. I might suggest mounting sideways, close to center of mass and attach a saftey cable. Not worth the liability alone. IMHO.

 

I'm putting mini race car parachutes on all my gear.

 

That would be awesome! Any reason to justify buying parachute army men at the toy store right.

If you put all your tools on the roof then you could really get some nice flight out of the mini parachutes. Or add some nice fletchings to the shovel handles to improve trajectory.

Very nice. How did you end up mounting it?

 

Originally I was going to use the rivnuts. Decided against it and just bolt the tracks through the roof. Felt this was the safer option.

 

Added a LED strip to my awning.

 

Nice work! I saw this mod awhile back on a truck and have it on my list. Very clean and funcitonal.

 

Any pics with the awning open?

 

And cheap. $15 for the lights and thay are the RGB with remote. I will just pplug them into my jumper box for now when in use.
