Yea! I'll be there for a whole week though since we'll be driving 16 hours to get there. Taking the wife to a few of the national parks. It took a while for her to decide on coming, but then we started to see a bunch of Utah National Parks commercials on TV, and she was finally like, "Wow it's beautiful there!"

    Should be an awesome time.

Utah is the most gun friendly state in the Nation and has been for a while. haha Though at this point, Idaho, WY, MT and a few southern states are about on par with it.

If you have a Utah concealed carry permit, you can legally open carry in an Elementary school in Utah if you want to. haha:cool:

I'm working in Moab during the event. (I think day shifts) seems a low fly over or two in the helicopter may be in order.

haha well I only have a small handgun, nothing crazy. And I don't even have a holster, so it'll be in a case most of the time. I just want to make sure that if I get pulled over for any reason, I won't get in trouble for having a loaded gun for example.

I don't know Utah's rule specifically for that, but in Idaho a loaded gun in vehicle must be visible (which is stupid...). An unloaded gun can be stored anywhere though. Pretty sure Utah is the same way on unloaded, not sure about loaded. May have to have a valid concealed carry permit to conceal it loaded in the vehicle. I'll have to look over those rules posted as well. haha

Hmmm well let me ask my gun but room mate and he will most-likely have the answer lol from what I understand "open carry" is clearly visible with no part being covered aka concealed. Guys open carry here all the time but must be unloaded (Utah term for unloaded is more so meaning Un-Chambered). Transport is unloaded with ammunition out of reach of occupants (in trunk or equivalent). Here is brief lamens terms for the open carry laws here:

In Utah you can carry a loaded concealed pistol in the car without a concealed carry permit. Key word being pistol not rifle or shotgun.
