After a few days the red started to uhh idk burn off. Which is weird. I was low on red so did first 3 coats in black then just enough red to cover total color. The black underneath is perfect but some of the light areas of the red came off.

Not sure if it's cuz it was to light or if the red is the issue. Going to leave it go for a few weeks and see if the rest of the red goes to shit

Probably the light coat getting eaten away by the fumes? Just taking a guess.

I did this once but with a thick layer of black and it stayed solid on the tail pipe.

Maybe try a thick coat of the red next time and see if that works. I like the red accents though, good job!

I did probably 5 coats on the tailpipe, of course its black and probably dirty too so that would help with me not seeing any changes.

Pretty happy with how mine came out. I did 4 coats per wheel, with the wheels off the truck. These look so much better then stock, the compliments on how much better it looks have been nice. I used 3 cans and still had a little bit left over.

Nice job. I just bought 4 cans for my rims. Looks like I have an extra can to play with. Gonna spray mines next week. ;)

Index cards and tape. Wrapped the lugs with cut up index cards after taping the caps and don't spray as far away as the can says. I think it says to be 12-16inches away which does not work well just stay close enough to get a consistent wet coat. And what thunderone said, I forgot to run something around the outside of my rim before it dried so I hope it holds up instead of peeling up from the outside.

    Naholo808,
Don't bother with the index cards, just a waste of time. Spray the tire then you can peel it once it's dry...or just leave it till it falls off(like I did). I pulled my wheels off because of the tight fit to the brakes and large spoke area, it would be tough to do the garbage bag idea like on dipyoucar.

Index cards weren't for the outside if the rim, I used them to cover the brakes and lugnuts. They fit perfect through the rim on the 17s

Awesome. Thinking of doing index and lug nuts method. Thanks.

I agree, the front rims look complicating since the rim and calipers are so close; The rear is not so bad. My plan is to take off the fronts and leave the rear on. I inspected the rear and there is a lot of room to work with.

Thanks for your advise. Can wait to do it.

Will post pics when it's completed.
