Go drive a Tacoma, make the decision yourself.

The Double cab long box's are only available in sport. Double cab short box's are available in both sport and off road. At least in the states ;)

No, it's the other way around. Suzuki wants to get into the mid-size truck market so they partnered with Nissan to produce a specified amount of trucks for them. Nissan will produce and Suzuki will re badge the Frontier as their Suzuki Equator, Nissan will still be making and selling the Frontier truck separate from this agreement. Honda did a similar thing with Isuzu when it was entering the SUV market, remember the Isuzu Rodeo and the Honda Passport ?

Hey dude, meant no offence. I was only trying to say that neither company can give me the offroad options I want in the cab / box configuration I want. Looks like I will visting the ARB website regardless of weather its Toyota or Nissan. If I had something agaist japs I would be looking at a GM or Ford and then you would proabaly have to tow me out of the bush!

    Cheers

Welcome to the site I'm originally from Manitoulin

anyways what kind of options are you looking for cause if you're going to put a locker in the rear end either way get an sr5 not a sport that is unless you are just dying for the tow package, sport seats, compass/temp, steering wheel radio controls, colour match bumper and grill, hood scoop, 115v bed outlet and those snazy TRD stickers that alot of ppl seem to remove anyways. Just trying to save you a couple bucks. If you tow alot i would recommend the TRD because an aftermarket package is only rated for 5000lb vs 6500lb hope this helps you if not it helped my post count :D

you don't need a locker if you only have one wheel in the air.. don't give misinformation

Also, the canadian trucks come factory with the rear TSB.

I was torn between buying a frontier or a tacoma. i could have bought a crew cab 4x4 w/leather and a sunroof (1 year old)for the $ i paid for my (brandnew)tacoma trd prerunner. i test drove both and it was a no brainer. the frontier felt like a slug. the tacoma had more pep and i was very happy with the interior. the frontier has a solid bed:thumbsup:. living in socal, i decided to go with the locked prerunner over the 4x frontier.
-previous truck 2001 frontier crew cab 4x4 xe.

That is why someone said sr5 and base model trucks come with trd shocks. Canadian dealerships are having the tsb shocks put on the trucks before they even put them on the lot

it comes like that from the factory, not dealer.

canadians probably use more their trucks like a truck than most americans (I'm doing a generalized comment here)

we also have factory heated leather seats on the sport+leather package

wow, I wonder if they charge extra for the upgraded ( in terms of US models) shocks when selling the trucks? I think the tsb shocks and leaf here in US is about $1,600 to 1,800, of course price is covered through tsb but not in Canada since it is already on the truck. They must charge extra??

I think you should go with 2010 Sport TRD with the long bed. I think that one will give you all the options you could ask for and you will be more than pleased with the quality. Just my two cents.

So in the US we go back and have the dealer do the tsb and the dealer makes a profit from Toyota but in Canada Toyota sends the trucks already with the tsb suspension and does not have to pay the dealerships. makes sense. Toyota did a census and Americans complained about the tight suspension in the 1st gen trucks so Toyota listened and complied with sofster suspension and applied a tsb for folks who need the tighter suspension. Apparently Canada did not complain about the tight suspension in the 1st gen trucks...

Why not buy one in the US? I bought my 06 TRD/OR/DC a year ago when the dollar was par and it's getting back up there now. Everyone was afraid of the import hassles but I found it to be minimal. Just jump through their hoops and your good to go!

It could be that you keep using a racial slur. I mean I sure black people wouldn't take too kindly if I said "Damn I love that ****** music. It's so good!"

Yeah no. I'd be in for a serious ass kicking from black and white people.

When has it ever been politically correct is a better question to ask.

That or if you've ever been to Fort McMurray Alberta you'll realize we really do use trucks as trucks. Hell, anywhere in Alberta they do. In Fort McMurray you'll be lucky to have a 3-1 ratio of trucks to every other type of vehicle if not worse.

Post Scriptum - Let's just remember that no deliberate racial hatred was intended in this thread and move on.

it costs less for toyota to do TSB on a small % of trucks than install the upgrade in the factory.

it all boils down to financials.

If I recall correctly I think there were certain warranty issues with buying an american truck, not sure on this though.
