that blue just looks great. probably going to steal the color lol. its parked daily at a hot rod shop. it looks like a perfectly purpose built truck. glad to see it wasnt ruined or cut to pieces as so many trucks are after they are sold. buy it back for less than you sold it to him lol.

yeah i reeeaaaly like your ext cab sirhk, would totally swoop it up if not for the lack of a bed and the smog issues.
i sold my first single cab at a profit, and upgraded to an extended cab 3 years newer, with fewer miles, a better front kit, full heimed chromoly steering, coil overs and hydro bumps, a fuel cell, powersteering/ac and an interior, among other things, for 400$ more. all things that i wanted, but just couldn't justify the cost that would have put me deep into the red on the single cab.
this hobby is undoubtedly expensive and its easy to dump money into our trucks. but at the end of the day, if i can make a profit, or at least break even, and drive the piss out of a vehicle and learn a ton in the process that i can into the next truck, then why not? i had a bunch of sentimental attachment to the single cab, doing everything with hand tools, even painting the bitch by hand with a foam roller. but at the end of the day, if i can have something better, and have more cash in my pocket, whats the difference? especially if i can take on a new build with better tools and significantly more knowledge?
plus, priorities change. anthony built a lt prerunner, decided he wants 4wd now. i wanted to build an excessive lt barely street legal truck, but now that i've lived with all the sqeaks, rattles, and cabin noise i'm considering moving to a LT 1st gen taco that is a little more conservative with a bedsaver cage and simple engine cage, that can hit the dirt but also cruise the fwy.
life's just kinda unpredictable i guess, but who knows if selling your baby might lead to a huge upgrade, like in sirhk's situation

I understand what your saying. I just bought a second vehicle that's stock so I don't have to find a balance. One fullkill vs. one stock.

LOL, I'm finding that having a 100% stock tow vehicle for my backup is pretty nice! I've ALWAYS had at least 2 vehicles but they all were always modified. The STOCK factor is so nice now! My DD is farily modified and while it hasn't let me down, it's nice knowing if it does, I hop in the tow rig and life goes on. Granted, I need to get my DD in the shop here relatively soon for some a/c repairs.

My yota was excessively built. Not super comfy, not very street friendly. Noisy, clanky, squeeky, etc... No a/c, no heat. Just bare minimum and had glass just to keep the cops away. Living in Az and Nv was much easier getting away with it then the stories of what I hear in Cali. It's been 10 years almost now since I left San Diego. I hear the police are a bit more aggressive on built trucks on the street since I left.

The truck I'm building now is being built 100% for the dirt but the luxury of Nv, I "should" have a plate on it in the end and will be able to street cruise it. Granted, climbing in and out thru the cage won't be that cool just running to the grocery store!

Any pro tips on replacing LCA bushings and uniballs? I have a 20 ton shop press so I'm not too worried; but what do I need to grease / what shouldn't I grease?

Anyone here running a DMZ kit with factory locker? When I cycle mine it smashes the wiring connectors against the locker actuator at full bump. Messing with it looks like I need to mount the connectors parallel to the ground rather than 90*, but looks like this moves them up so now when it droops out the diff will pull on them?

Is it hitting against the bed I take it? I have a 1" body lift so mine hasn't hit that I am aware of... Maybe I should check that out.

Put the bushings in the freezer if they are too tight. Also keep in mind the metal spacer gets all the clamping force and doesn't move, the bushing moves around that, so grease the inside of the bushing well. Make sure the sharp edge of the circlip is facing out.

Just bend the bracket and lengthen and/or move the wires if needed.
Completely senseless to over complicate an easy problem.

The uni balls press out pretty easy and make sure the new ones are squared up straight when pressing in..
